By noon time, Liam was already occupied with work. Not that he had expected less but this was way too overwhelming for someone who was new to this. He wasn't complaining though. The pile of work was endless at this point. His thoughts drifted to Mr Broda. For a while now, Liam had been feeling uneasy. He thought it wasn't right to just leave without announcing his departure. But it wasn't really his fault at the time, he thought something dreadful had happened thanks to Alexander and his secretary. Liam was on the verge of cursing that old man. He would make sure to visit Mr Broda tomorrow again, at least to apologize for leaving his house suddenly without informing him. Liam dropped the pen he was using to write down something and stared at the laptop for a while. Afterwards, he leaned back on his chair and loosened his tie. With his head resting on the headrest of his seat, he shut his eyes closed to take a quick rest. However, exactly a few minutes later, a knock was heard on
"I honestly don't care what you are called, I can call you whatever I wish to," Liam responded nonchalantly with his fingers playing with his fountain pen. Right after he said that the air in the office felt heavy and suffocating. Even Nelson who was still standing by the door felt goosebumps rise on his skin. The smile on both father and son's faces vanished as they both half stared and half glared at Liam for his confidence and audacious words. "You sound so cocky and ignorant, just when I thought you knew something about me. But it turns out you don't know who I really am and what I'm capable of, I could make—" Aamon Chorro spoke in a threatening voice but was interrupted by Liam. "I must say I'm quite disappointed, Aamon. With the way you were being so confident back then, I thought you would have created a huge havoc by now. But it turns out it was just an empty word of threat." Liam said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. He was referring to the voice message he h
Matt couldn't help but curse his luck. The man whom he had bumped into earlier stood there with his hands akimbo as if waiting for someone. And Matt hates to admit that that someone might be him. Matt would have just chosen to walk out quietly. However, the man was currently standing on the only route that would lead Matt out of this place. The entrance of the abandoned building had grass and weeds growing around it, it looked crusty, dusty and definitely not attractive. The entrance door was metal and though it looked closed from a distance but at a closer look, one would notice it was slightly open. Not very wide but wide enough for a person to enter the building without having to push open the door and not to mention, the door looked like it would be extremely difficult to open due to how long it had been there. Filled with nothing but confusion, Matt anxiously shook his right hand that held the bloodied spade in an attempt to calm his raging self. Seeing he had no other option
The moment the Broda family reached their home, grieve soon filled their presence and their household. They had lost an important member of the family and it felt like a hard blow for them. The children had lost their father and Susan had also lost her husband. With sadness written all over her face, Susan walked slowly with each steps heavy, she entered her bedroom with her children following behind her. This was the bedroom she shared with her husband and it hasn't even been up to twenty-four hours since she lost him but the room already felt empty and cold. Walking to Mr Broda's side of the bed, Susan sat on it and laid her palm on the bed, it felt cold. The bedroom had nothing special in it, just a regular normal sized bedroom with furnitures around the place. "Mom? I really think you should rest, it's almost evening and you need rest." Nick said with a worried face, he stood before the bed with Cara beside him as both siblings shared glances occasionally. Nick felt sorry for h
A few minutes ago back at the abandoned building, Matt had forcefully dropped the spade on the ground with a loud harsh thud. At first, he wasn't sure if that was a good idea, but then, that was the only thing he could come up with at the time and not to mention, he had to leave somehow. With the men chatting and laughing so loudly, they looked like they were all relaxed and having fun. But the loud sound coming from a distance was more than enough to grab their attention. Silence soon fell amongst them as the sound of the spade hitting the ground echoed around."Hey, what was that? Did you all hear that?" One of the men asked no one in particular. But they nodded and the man who was supposed to be their boss who had bumped into Matt earlier said, "I sure did hear that."With their heads turned in the direction of the building, one of them pointed at it and said, "It's coming from that building, should we go check it out?"They all nodded in agreement and slowly stood up from their res
"Matt? You look worn out, what happened to you?" Nick who had been staring at Matt since he stepped into the house asked, his stares were scrutinizing Matt. And with his intent stares, he was quick to notice what was off about Matt. One would think the young man was chased by death himself.Nick's voice resonated in the quiet dining, grabbing everyone's attention as both Susan and Cara gave Matt a close look. Hearing Nick's question, Matt felt his soul would leave his body. He lifted his gaze to stare at Nick while he wondered why Nick suddenly had his full attention on him to the extent of noticing how he looked.Realizing that Cara and Susan were silently waiting for a response from him, Matt chuckled and a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes followed before saying, "Ahh...you see when I heard how desperately Cara had begged me on the phone to come over for dinner. I had to leave the important meeting I was having with my father to make sure I didn't miss this dinner. I ran as qu
"Is this blood on your shirt?" Cara who held a deep curious frown on her face asked Matt while still staring at his clothes. Matt whose eyes were closed as he was ready to sleep off snapped them open with a confused look. He first stared at Cara who stared back at him before looking down at his clothes, Matt cursed in his mind as he slowly closed his eyes. The blood stains on his shirt were because of what he did in that abandoned building where he buried his mother. He had used the spade to cut her head off which had caused blood to splash on him. Though he had not noticed it but when he was leaving that building after he had dropped that spade to cause a loud sound, he had grabbed a black jacket he found while leaving the small neighbourhood. And when it was time to go to bed, he had removed the jacket, leaving only his shirt which was stained. Deep down, Matt was thankful he hadn't removed the jacket when they were having dinner, he was sure Nick would have noticed the blood stai
That same night, inside a luxurious bar, people could be seen around drinking and having fun. The bar had a piece of loud music booming from the speaker and the people inside the bar danced to it.Amongst these people was Aamon Chorro seated on a VIP chair, three bodyguards stood beside him and seated before Chorro was Nelson who held onto the cup of alcohol in his hands. His small frame seared on that chair was constantly drawing people's attention towards him and that made sense because it wasn't every day a person would come to see someone as young as Nelson in this bar. It was mostly older men and women, especially the rich ones. And if you were to find anyone as young as him, they would be ladies."So to what do I owe this rendezvous?" Chorro asked as he dropped the glass of whiskey on the table after taking a sip.Nelson looked at Chorro while wondering if this man could be trusted. Earlier today when he saw the interaction between Liam and Chorro, although Liam had seemed to h
