Uncle Alexander.

This wasn't his plan at all. Following a rich brat to his uncle's mansion for heaven knows what reasons but he agreed anyway but not after so much persuasion.

A few minutes ago. Liam was taken aback when he heard what the young man said and wondered if he was referring to him.

And he wasn't the only person surprised, even the man who looked like the leader of these men was equally surprised.

The man whose name was Sir Gibbs gave Nelson a questioning gaze as if trying to wrap his head around what his young master was saying.

"I'm sorry but may I know the reason?" Sir Gibbs asked and Nelson answered as quickly as he heard the question from him.

"Because he saved my life, I need to take him to my uncle and I have to properly thank him," Nelson explained, eagerness in his eyes.

Gibbs looked at the man who still sat nonchalantly on the ground and pretended he didn't hear a single word of what Nelson just said.

"Does the man agree?" Gibbs asked, referring to Liam and a short silence followed as all heads and attention were directed at Liam.

Realizing they were waiting for a response from him, he first looked at Gibbs and then at the young man before responding, "I'm not interested, you can go and I'll be fine."

Liam had already planned his death and how he was going to die. He also needed time to nurse his broken heart before jumping off this bridge.

He had no time to act like a hero for this young man to his uncle. Although he already did.

But Nelson wouldn't give up and said everything and anything he could think of to persuade Liam and it finally worked.

Because Liam took his own time to think it all through he realized at the end of the day he had nothing to lose.

Inside the luxurious car, Liam sat quietly, feeling a little off because right he looked and felt like shit but didn't let that bother him.

Meanwhile, Nelson who sat beside Liam but with a little distance couldn't stop stealing glances at Liam, he was still fascinated at how good and fearlessly Liam fought those men.

Though he lacked experience in life due to how protective his uncle was of him, Nelson knew someone like Liam needed to be protected at all cost and it would be beneficial for him if he kept Liam beside him.

Because of how he was related to his uncle who had so many enemies that wanted to eliminate him, Nelson needed to be kept under guards and security which he found really exhausting and suffocating.

He never got to live an ordinary and free life because people were always after him and this was one of the many times he escaped from their claws except this was way different because this time a complete stranger helped him.

The ride to wherever it was they were taking him was very quiet and Liam's mind was filled with what would happen after now, probably nothing.

He would just get congratulated by this young brat uncle who seemed rich and would be presented with a huge grilled turkey on a regal dining table and after that, he would be sent away.

This made Liam realize how meaningless his life had actually become, especially after he just left prison, not that he wished to go back there.

Before he was sent to prison, his life was meaningful and colourful with Cara by his side.

He didn't mind doing his minor online jobs of graphic designing and learning coding.

He remembered the support he received from Cara and that always made him feel worthless because he had always wanted to do more for her.

While inside prison, he had met someone who taught him so much and also joined the group of men who were taught how to code and Liam was sure he was the only person who took it seriously and that was because he thought he had someone waiting for him, he thought he had a reason to take it extremely serious.

And he also received extra lessons from this man who helped him in prison.

Liam had strategized so many great plans that would change his and Cara's life after he would leave prison but look how she messed up.

Now he felt like he had wasted his time learning skills he wouldn't ever put to good use. A complete waste because his life was practically meaningless without Cara in it.

Liam was snapped out of his thoughts when the car drove into a huge and magnificent mansion. He stared in awe through the window and an inexplicable feeling ran through his being.

The car was parked in a good spot and Liam alongside Nelson came down from the car and was led into the mansion.

As Liam stepped into the mansion through the front door, he felt as if he just walked into a different world, he found himself enveloped in an atmosphere of opulence. A grand foyer with marble floors led to a cascading staircase adorned with intricate gold railings. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow on the elaborate furnishings below.

The expansive living room boasted plush velvet sofas and towering windows that overlooked manicured gardens. A grand piano stood in one corner, waiting to serenade guests. The walls were adorned with priceless artworks, creating a gallery-like ambience.

Nelson and Liam were the only people in the living room and Nelson felt a bit awkward. With the both of them standing in the middle of the living room, Nelson smiled at Liam and said,

"Uhm, please excuse I will be right back." And he left. Liam simply stared at his departing back as he wondered why he was acting so nice, something he never imagined the rich could do.

Liam looked around the living room and at the sofas and didn't dare to feel comfortable or sit on the sofa for fear of staining it.

Meanwhile, Nelson after passing hallways and a series of doors he finally stood before one and knocked softly on it.

He waited exactly five seconds before opening the door and stepping in.

It was an office. The vintage-style office, owned by Nelson's uncle, exuded the scent of aged wood, old books, and lingering cigar smoke. Compact and rich in mahogany furnishings, it whispered of a bygone era with leather chairs, antique desks, and a timeless air of sophistication.

His eyes fell on the back of his uncle who sat in a wheelchair and was facing the window, watching the view outside. The place his uncle was had smoke around it, the smoke was coming from the cigar in his hands.

Nelson cleared his throat and bowed his head to greet his uncle, "Good afternoon uncle, I was-"

"Should I call you daring or outrightly foolish?" His uncle cut him off just before he could finish what he had to say.

The rich deep voice of his uncle filled the room and caused Nelson's body to stiffen. At this point, Nelson knew there was no need to explain himself and he just needed to go straight to the point.

"Someone saved me and I brought him here...I thought it was the right thing to do."

"Indeed." Alexander simply responded and he turned his wheelchair to face his nephew. His sharp grey eyes stared right at Nelson who couldn't meet his gaze.

Alexander pushed his electric wheelchair without moving a muscle closer to the table and dropped the cigar in an ashtray and continued to stare at Nelson for a good minute before saying,

"Bring him here, I need to have a chat with him."
