Chapter 156

The Revenmar mansion was bustling with servants scurrying about in preparation for the banquet the Chairman had planned for his family.

This was following a week after he had fully recovered from his sudden illness. Alterations had been made to the mansion to accommodate certain features for the party.

The chandelier in the living room was polished, and the light bulbs changed. Even the curtains were changed, and the house scented. The pool was cleaned, and the doors thrown open to saturate the house with fresh air. The main party was to take place in the garden where tables and elegant chairs had already been laid out and clothed and cutlery laid.

A company had been contracted to provide foods while the drinks would come from the Chairman's own winery. The Chairman kept the intentions of the party secret from both of his children, only instructing them to get prepared for it.

With the downstairs busy, the upper floors were the opposite. Silence hung like a thick mist over the floors.
