Joseph stood before his grandfather's coffin, his eyes fixed on the old man’s face, now serene with eyes closed in eternal rest.

The scent of lilies filled the room, deepening the heavy silence. The coffin was placed at the center of a grand hall adorned with opulent decorations—a high ceiling painted with murals, a massive crystal chandelier hanging above, and sturdy white marble pillars flanking the space.

Joseph approached slowly, as though his feet were weighed down. He bent slightly, touching the edge of the mahogany coffin. In a low, almost whispering voice, he said, “Grandpa, your death has taken me by surprise. If your passing was caused by human hands, I swear, I will avenge for you.”

From the corner of the room, Jennifer stood gracefully, her sharp eyes locked on Joseph. Despite the distance between them, she caught his words. Her face remained calm, but the glass of water she held trembled slightly.
