192 : Allergy

"Severe allergies?" Victor was stunned to hear what the doctor had to say about Violet.

"Symptoms such as labored breathing, a flushed or swollen face, and a drastic drop in blood pressure are symptoms of severe allergies. I've checked the lab report and it looks like your friend just ingested the food that triggered her allergy. We found seafood protein in his system and that's most likely the culprit."

Victor almost gaped, not expecting it.

"It's a good thing you got him to the hospital quickly. Severe allergy symptoms can lead to death, and in your friend's case, he could have died from acute asphyxiation or a massive drop in blood pressure that would have stopped his heart."

"But is she alright?"

"She is. Just waiting for her to wake up."

The doctor left, Victor silent with an overwhelming sense of guilt.

The pasta sauce Violet had eaten earlier must have contained pureed seafood. Violet didn't eat the lobster but she still almost died from something else.
