193 : A Confession

Victor carried Violet through the darkened room, only the moonlight illuminating each step he took up the stairs and into a spacious room on the second floor of the mansion.

He placed Violet on the king-sized bed, as gently as if she were a fragile item.

Violet seemed to be sleeping so well, she didn't wake up at all, but Victor could tell she was still breathing.

"In the end, I brought you to my home." Victor bowed his head, admitting defeat to himself for not wanting Violet to go anywhere but his place.

"I used to ignore you because I knew from the start that we stood on different ground; you loved your father so much, whereas I wanted so badly to destroy him. I even allowed the person who got Vonn and Vincent into trouble to go free and help him, because he and I had the same target. I never told anyone about this, because I knew you would hate me."
