Violet didn't say anything as Victor walked her through the crowd, nor did she have any reason to rebel. About two meters away, Violet held Victor back and the two stopped at the side of the road where there weren't many people. Violet didn't want to say anything other than asking for Victor's hand. Although she didn't know exactly how Victor had broken it, or what Violet feared, the pot had fallen on Victor's hand and it must have hurt.

But just as she was about to ask, Victor interrupted her again. "Why are you here?" he asked with a colorless look, so passive and stiff.

Violet let out a short breath, then answered him, "I'm taking a walk to get acclimated to the city."

"Alone?"

"I'm with Miss Emma. She asked me to go out for a walk-"

"And where is she now?" Violet paused, realizing that she hadn't been with Emma for a while.
