chapter one
"Don't wait up for me, James. I am working the night shift." Martha looked at her son. The room showed that it has only been both of them, with a little seater by the corner and a tattered bed on the floor. Martha adjusted her spectacles. James hurried to the table to have his breakfast before going to school. They had just moved again, and this was going to be the seventh time they were moving this year. James was getting tired of it, but each time he asked his mother about it, she would always give him an excuse. He got tired and finally stopped asking. James had little or no friends at all. No one misses him, and he doesn't miss anyone. Thus, he was never attached to anything or anyone. He looked up from his food and looked at Martha. "I hope we won't have to move this time again." James said it with his mouth full. "I hope so too, son." Martha drank her cup of coffee and kissed him on the head. She rushed out of the house, leaving seventeen-year-old James all by himself. Jame

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE chapter twenty seven
James froze, his heart racing despite the pain shooting through his ribs. The VIP room suddenly felt like a trap, not a safe place. His hands searched the floor, the bed sheets, the side table—nothing. The spectacle was gone. Gone. The one item tethering him to the system, the one item that kept him steps ahead.“Damn it!” he groaned, slamming his fist weakly against the bed frame. James tried to remember the fight between him, Strikers and Reginald. It couldn't have been Strikers. James remembered slamming him to the ground. He was down before he fainted. He couldn't have taken it. A soft knock startled him. He instinctively sat up halfway, wincing, his eyes darting to the door."James?" a familiar voice called out gently. It was Selena."Come in," he croaked, wondering why Selena had decided to come and pay him a visit. He wasn't expecting anyone. So far so good; no one had decided to visit him after the fight. She walked in slowly, holding a brown paper bag and a bottle of w

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty six
The school was in a frenzy mode with what just happened. "Did you see what James did?" " You should have seen the way he fought that dude with the dagger. He was amazing." "The school deserves to give him an award for saving those students." "How do you think Selena's father knew about the fight? I heard he came just when it was about to happen." Another said, looking at his fellow students. Stiles, Trevor and the rest of his minions walked past them. "Fools. I wonder what is so special about him trying to say some dying students." Stiles said with anger. He looked ahead and saw Selena talking to her father with the Dean standing right in front of them. "Thank you very much, Mr Davenport. He is a good kid. Let me know how much his hospital bills are going to cost and also if he needs anything; don't hesitate to ask me." Reginald said with a smile. His face was bruised, but not that it mattered. "Are you alright, Dad?" Selena asked, seeing she was having a bit of torn

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty five
James stopped abruptly. He could hear the muffled sound of the students as one of them ran towards him. "You are going to be alright, dude. Stay with me." James could feel the dagger in his back as blood oozed out of the cut. "You need to leave now! All of you." He shouted, pushing the boy in front of him. "I don't know how long I can hold him for!" Reginald shouted, pinning Striker's hands down. "Give me as much time as you can." James shouted as he tried to pry open the windows. The door was locked, and only Strikers could have it opened. "Go now!" James shouted as the students arranged a set of chairs to climb out through the window. One, two, three, four, five...James kept counting as Reginald battled Strikers. The last students were about going out through the window when Reginald let loose of Striker's hands. He plunged another dagger at the last student who was about to climb out. "No!" James shouted as he tried to hold it, but he was too late. The dagger pierces the

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty four
The moment the spectacle latched fully onto James’s face, the air shifted—almost like the universe had just taken a deep breath. The library felt smaller, heavier. Time itself seemed to slow.James’s fingers twitched slightly, adjusting to the new pulse of energy radiating through him. His vision sharpened; he could see Striker’s heat signature, the slight tremble in the hands of terrified students, and the faint shimmer of magic woven around Striker’s twin daggers. He could see the James himself wasn't human. He was cloaked in a mysterious energy even without the spectacles on. " What is this?" James said slightly feeling scared. “You shouldn’t have done that,” Striker said, voice low, amused, and dark. “Now, I really want to break you.” Strikers said with a crackle that sent chills down his spine.James didn’t respond. He took one step forward—and the entire floor beneath him cracked slightly from the weight of his presence. In a flash, Striker lunged. The sound of metal slicing t

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty three
James's grip on the table tightened as he looked at the strange student seated before him. He grinned widely with a deadly smirk on his face. "Do you think you can run away from me, huh?" He said with a set of white teeth flashed at James. He looked around the library room and laughed. "Don't even think about it, James." He moved from his seat and relaxed slowly beside James. "We can either do this the hard way or the easy way, and trust me, I don't have a problem doing it both ways." "Give me the spectacle, and we can just go our separate ways." He said again. "And why do you think I am going to do that?" James replied immediately; his breath was a bit ragged, but he was trying enough to make it calm. "Why? Did you just ask me that question?" He said with anger, his voice raised as many of the students looked towards him. "Why are you playing the hero part, James?" He asked again, this time relaxing with his back behind the chair. "You could just look away. You don'

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty two
As James walked through the students hallway, he looked back to see Sandra following him. "You need to stop doing that, Sandra. I don't want you caught up in all of this." He said to take a stop abruptly. "Why? Do you have something to hide?" Sandra cut him off. "Hide? Why do I need to hide when I have done nothing wrong except trying to stay alive from people trying to kill me?" James replied immediately. He heard a sound and saw a sharp movement through the hallway. "You need to go back, Sandra. Why don't we talk about this some other time?" James said, trying to dismiss her. "Is that a promise?" Sandra said slowly, looking at James. For some reason she was beginning to find him attractive. "I will call you if that is what you were hoping for." Sandra smiled and walked away. James's eyes darted back and forth as he walked. The hallway was awfully quiet with none of the students coming to and fro. James decided to be the smarter guy. "I know you can hear me, and

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty one
James spun round, and he was back on his seat in the cafeteria with lots of noise and the chattering of the students. "What just happened?" He said silently as he glanced around the whole cafeteria trying to picture the guy he had seen earlier. [ SYSTEM VOICE: C'MON, JAMES. WHY ARE YOU SURPRISED? YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN USED TO THE SYSTEM BY NOW. YOU WERE GOING TO BE KILLED. I SAVED YOUR LIFE. YOU OWE ME A THANK YOU FOR THAT. ] James sighed, feeling very anxious. " You mean I was going to be dead?" He asked, staring around to see where his killer was. The last thing James remembered before finding himself back at the cafe was a sound coming from his back. YOU NEED TO BE AS RUTHLESS AND DECISIVE AS THEY ARE. ] "I am just a kid. Are you seriously asking me to consider killing?" James said with his voice low. [ SYSTEM

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE Chapter twenty
James woke up as early as possible. He needed to get to the campus in time. He looked at his skin and noticed there were visible marks. James furrowed his brow as he stared at the mirror in front of him. It was real. The scuffle he had with the strange figure that night was real. It is well evident that he needed to be ready. First, James knew he had to find out who was sent by Carlos. The mission was simple. He either joined forces with him or he will have to take him out. Yes! That was the solution or they just keep coming back at him. James dressed up as fast as he could and he was soon out of the house. He looked back to see the rickety house that he lived in. James needed to upgrade and the best way to do that was to get all the missions given by the system as soon as possible. He remembered the mission, he was just to find Carlos men. That was it. The money pops in and he can go ahead to use it however he please. James got into the school and saw how peaceful it loo
