The distant hum of the city felt miles away, replaced by an unsettling silence that amplified John’s growing unease.

Finally, he heard the faint sound of footsteps approaching from behind. The noise echoed off the narrow walls, each step sending a jolt of anticipation through him. He swiftly turned, his heart pounding in his chest. It was Miss B, waltzing towards him with an air of confidence, an umbrella in her hand and held above her head.
