Chapter 31

Two years after Matthias’ disappearance, Arnauld finds himself drowning on a series of reports by his private investigators again.

Like before, there is still no trace of Matthias nor that freak of a loli-granny Mirella who took over control of Matthias' education which is done her way.

“Dad, one of our warehouses burned again.”

Arnauld glanced at his son, Aren.

“How long are you going to waste resources just to find someone who is not even your blood relative?” Aren questioned his father, his hands trembling from the irateness he’s feeling toward his negligent father.

“Remember this Aren, whatever we have right now doesn’t belong to us but to the great master. What I am wasting is the great master’s resources and not ours and that is to find Matthias Claude, the next master.”

“Just leave him be! Can’t you just let–”

“The economy will crumble, Aren!”
