Chapter 15:
I was looking at the sky askance. Then I groaned pushing the door inside when Dad called my attention again. He stood with Amir who was fretting and they were all glaring at me like I did something wrong. "Why are you all looking at me like that?"

"He called me a phony," Amir let out with beads of tears in his eyes. "And then hit me in the nuts during a baseball practice. I was only trying to make good friends with him but I guess he's too good for me. You were right, Morty, a lot of things haven't changed," He sniffed.

"What the_?! You were there!" I shrieked at Morty.

"No, I wasn't."

Mort hid behind Kendra who passed him a dry look. She looked pretty disappointed in me too.

I glanced over at Dexter and he grimaced.

"You need to stop being so defensive and put an end to this grievance. It's getting out of hand, right Mrs Al-Abadi?"
