CHAPTER FORTY FOUR

Reynold slowly walked the paved roads of the hospital backyard, sidelined by red and yellow flowers that brought a soothing sweet smell to his lungs. Beside him was a lady in patterned hospital wear, walking with the support of a single-leggef metallic rod.

Perhaps it was because of her that Reynold kept his pace controlled.

“So, Tia tells me this your wife has been gracious to us.”

Her voice was slithery, dancing with ease on the note of her tone. Perhaps if there was a little bit of melody added, everything that came out of her mouth could have been music.

It's amazing that a woman of her age still had a beautiful voice as this. Although for Reynold it was very regrettable that he wasn't the one that inherited this voice.

He smiled and lowered his head as he responded to her, barely managing to distract himself from her pleasant voice.

“Kayla is great. She's cool.”

She looked up to her son, clearly reading the frolicking behind the lines of his shy smile.
