Eno-goblins?
As planned, they entered the forest and dispersed. They all went in different directions and surrounded the forest.

Erix took George with him so that he couldn't escape.

George, on the other hand, wasn't stupid enough to try to escape, so he willingly followed Erix.

"You don't have anything to do with the goblins following us, do you?" Erix couldn't help but ask. He knew George had nothing to do with it; he just wanted to scare him a little.

George turned pale with fear when he heard this question. He wasted no time and began to answer. "I've nothing to do with it. Your friend killed all my men. There are none left. Unfortunately, though, if any of them were still alive, it would be foolish to urge them to spy on you."

Erix said nothing more. He knew George couldn't be so foolish as to send out spies to follow them, so he requested no further reply.

As they continued east, they soon spotted a fallen tree and decided to position themselves there.
