He told him how the high levels came to his room last night to look for Shota and took him after they couldn't find him, the torturing they subjected him to and the deal they finally blackmailed him to accept.

Though he wasn't sure he made a good decision by telling Salvador, he still wanted to believe Salvador was someone that would be trusted.

Moreover, he needed advice from someone that wasn't his friend.

His friends might get worried and out of worry, advise him into doing something irrational, so he needed someone who wasn't his friend, and Salvador seemed to be the suitable person for that.
