First mission Prepare for End Time

" Oh, by the way, System, how many people can see this thing floating in front of me?"

'ONLY YOU CAN SEE AND HEAR ME

" Good, it will be awkward explaining things to people."

Eagan stood there thinking.

' I have a couple of hours before resuming work. I can plan and then get some things before going to work.'

"System, you said I can exchange points for food and necessities. Why do I have to repurchase them?"

"Would you rather use points for food or weapons to defend yourself against monsters?"

" You got me there. I can use my college savings to buy these things. I wouldn't want to frighten my sickly grandmother unnecessarily. There probably won't be anything called the school in the apocalypse, so there won't be a need to save money, right?"

After Eagan overcame his initial shock of having a system pop out from nowhere, he got enough information. What to do? He got dressed, had breakfast, and set out to complete his mission.

"First Mission Prepare for the Apocalypse "

" We've got Flashlight, water, first aid kits, long shelf-life foods, backpacks, water bottles, lighter, extra bandages, sodas, coffee .... do I even have enough money to pay for all this? " He looked at the shopping cart total to the brim with things he had bought made on internet recommendations for the apocalypse. One significant part of long shelf-life foods, One cart full of medical supplies, one cart full of soda and coffee, one cart full of water, and the other cart full of random things like flashlights, lighters, water filters, backpacks, Binoculars.

'THE SYSTEM HAS DONE THE CALCULATION AND COMPARED IT WITH YOUR NET WORTH AND AVAILABLE FUNDS, AND THERE IS ENOUGH TO PURCHASE ALL THESE THINGS, AND THEY'LL BE ENOUGH TO SUSTAIN YOUR HOUSEHOLD OF THREE FOR ABOUT FOUR MONTHS "

" You were able to calculate it?"

' YES, IT'S ONE OF THE SYSTEM'S BASIC FUNCTIONS '

" Cool, I won't be able to continue shopping due to work; I'm almost late; let's go check out.

After the checkout, he took the goods home, left them in the car, and then left for work.

"I have to inform Silver about the apocalypse, but would he even believe me? "

'YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE ME, AND YOU STILL DON'T BELIEVE ME; YOU'RE ONLY DOING IT IN CASE, NOT BECAUSE YOU KNOW OF THE IMPENDING DOOM. SO IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT, HOW DO YOU EXPECT SOMEONE ELSE TO BELIEVE YOU?'

Eagan sighed. It was true that he didn't hundred percent believe what the system said, and there is no way I can convince someone to believe what I don't even consider myself. ughhh I'll have to wait a while and figure out how to tell him about it, but for now, I need to focus on work.

"Another problem, though, I don't know where to keep all the things I'm going to buy without making my grandmother suspicious."

" That won't be a problem. The system is designed with storage, and you can store things in it, but you'll have to level up to free more space in the storage."

" The system is designed like a game. I can always level up. How fun!"

Throughout the week, Eagan continued getting essential missions like having a safe place to stay during the apocalypse and buying more things to survive.

He cleared out the attic and set up the gym there, and when his grandmother asked why he was changing things up, he gave the excuse that he was 'changing scenery ' he cleared the basement and turned it into living quarters.

The basement has four bedrooms; each has a washing area, a living room, and a kitchen; his grandmother told him his father designed the house.

The space is enough to house the three of them.

While he was shuffling between preparing for the apocalypse and work, telling his best friend about the doomsday skipped his mind.

Throughout that week, he'd go shopping before going to work, store them in the system storage space, and go to work until he was out of his savings.

Even though he has been preparing earnestly for doomsday, he still isn't sure if the whole thing Is real or some prank from who knows who Until he gets a call from his uncle, who was in the military.

" Hey Champ... you good?"

" I'm alright, still living; the same goes for you, I presume?"

"Pfft... of course, you always talk formerly let loose sometimes."

" Mm-mmm"

"Alright, alright, I don't have much time to explain things to you; I sent you some videos and money but as much longer shelf-life food as you can, enough to last you for months ... there has been a virus outbreak that is turning people into Zombies, and it's spreading fast, soon the government will declare a state of emergency, and there won't be enough time to get everything you'd need ones it been made public so you should get them now. The basement is soundproof and can't be broken from the outside, no matter what. Also, there's a shelter .... never mind, you're not ready yet... The solar system is also connected to the basement so that you won't need electricity. Please stay safe and protect yourself."

They stared at the phone with surprise, thinking, ' I have been preparing for this situation thinking it was just a bluff or something, so it was true? If that's the case, I need to inform Silver ASAP!'

Declaring a state of emergency without giving the citizens enough time to prepare is the one that could happen right now; not only did we escape from a worldwide pandemic, but going into another one more dangerous is terrible. People would starve to death in this situation.

Is this the end of humanity?

The notification tunes on his phone went off, notifying him of the money and the video.
