You'll have to Earn Your Stay

The two men with the knives slash and stab—the zombie's head, with Nick and Shannon assisting from the back.

"I love this; let's do this often!" Nick said excitedly amidst all the shooting

"I honestly thought I'd die or something while leaving the base this morning; I didn't think it'd be this enjoyable to shoot at zombies."

The survivors heard their voices, and the commotion from outside began packing their things so as not to time the rescue team after killing the zombies. They packed all the necessary items, such as food, clothes, toiletries, and photo albums.

Eagan knocked on the door after killing off all the zombies

"Hey, anybody in there? He asked, and the door opened immediately, revealing the blue-haired boy from earlier.

"Hello," he greeted firmly

"You were the one who called us the other time?"

"Yes, that was me; I'm sorry for attracting the zombie to you," the boy, who looked frail and young, bowed his head.

"It's okay."

" Can you please take my sisters to your base?"

"You don't know if we were the bad guys, and you want to hand over your sisters to us just like that?" Eagan asked, and the bot looked down

" Next time, be sure the people are promising before you get their attention towards you; times and everything have changed, and humans can be more dangerous than zombies these days, so be careful, alright? Shannon instructed calmly, and the boy gave a nod.

" Are your parents available?" Matt asked

"... they got bitten."

" ... Do you know if there are any other survivors on this floor?"

" Most people on this floor survived"

" Shannon, take care of the girl and others. Go knock on each door to bring out the survivors."

At the end of the raid, they rescued twenty people from the fifth floor, a family of four with a father, mother, and eight years old twins, another family who had a pregnant wife and a husband, five college students, the blue-haired boy seventeen years old boy and his two sisters, an old lady with her grandson and two couples staying together. Almost everyone on that floor was safe, with only four losses: the parent of the blue-haired boy, the child of the old lady, and a college student.

They took the survivors to the bus, where the other team was waiting with other survivors.

" We didn't expect this many survivors; the number is more than the bus could take at once. We'll have to go in batches ... don't be afraid. The supermarket is secured, and we've cleared the surrounding zombies. The children and women would go first, while the man would stay behind for the next batch. Sam and Vincent will escort them back to the base and return on the bus. Is anyone against the arrangement?" Adam asked, and the survivors looked at each other, a little bit suspicious of their intentions, but no one said anything as it was confirmed their number was more than the bus could contain. A lady raised her hand to ask.

"Uhm, I don't mind the arrangement, but the question is ... is there a place for everyone to stay? We are over fifty here and having..."

" There is enough space for everyone to stay. You don't have to worry about that. The only thing is that you'll all have to earn your stay, and it's nothing complicated or illegal, "Eagan explained calmly; an old man asked.

"By earning our stay, do you mean we'll come out to rescue survivors just like this?"

"There are many ways you can earn your stay in our base; not everyone is fit for combat so you can choose from other aspects. Like I said earlier, it's nothing illegal, "Eagan explained.

"We are in as long as we have a safe place to stay."

"That's good, all young men; please move into the supermarket to help move the resources; we need to gather as much as possible; it was our luck that this place hasn't been looted. Don't worry about expiry dates. We'll sort them once we get to the base, " Adam instructed, and the young men went into the supermarket while the older ones left with the first batch of the survivors. Three ladies stayed behind and got going with the bus silver saw them and asked.

"Is there anything you need?"

"Do you mind if we help? We are all trained and can use guns well," one of the girls replied

Silver smiled and replied, " The help is highly appreciated; it'll take an hour before the bus returns. You can join the others inside."

Eagan heard some noises coming toward them and brought out his guns, pointing them in the direction the noise was coming from, but there was nothing there.

"Dude, stop being paranoid. There's nothing around here we've checked, " Silver chuckled lightly, making fun of his best friend.

Matt, who had gotten used to Eagan's sharp senses, also brought out his weapon while telling silver, "He's got pointy ears ... Eagan is, the zombies coming?

"Yeah, and a quiet number of them, probably around fifty or so."

"Captain, I see them; there is a horde of them coming this way with some survivors too!" Light, the sniper among the trainers, said into the walkie-talkie he was holding as he looked into the binoculars.

"Where are they coming from?" Adam asked

"From the left, they are chasing a group of survivors," light reported

"Get into position every..."

Before he could finish his command, Eagan began shooting at the zombies, chasing the survivors without missing each shot.

"Don't be careless. You should have allowed the survivors to get closer before shooting!" Adam yelled

Eagan kept shooting without looking t Adam and replied, "don't worry, Adam, my accuracy is 100%."

NOPE, YOUR ACCURACY IS MERELY 40%, AND IF THE ZOMBIES MOVED FASTER, YOU WOULD HAVE MISSED!
