Focus on Not Turning Into a Zombie

" There's a supermarket around that corner to the left; hopefully, we'll stop there to get some resources; it hasn't been looted completely. We'll be divided into five groups, and each group will be led by one of your trainers; one group will be on the lookout for intruders and zombies while two groups will go into the supermarket to gather resources, and the other two will go into the surrounding houses to check for survivors " Adam instructed.

Everyone got assigned to their groups of four persons per group and stepped out of the bust to carry out the mission given to them.

Matt, a Trainer, leads Eagan's group, and the members are Eagan, Shannon, a lady who worked on the farm on the base, and Nick, Eagan's co-worker. Their team was assigned to check the building opposite the supermarket for survivors, and as they got close to the building, someone shouted from the upper level.

"Hey! Please help! Please help us!" It was a blue-haired boy waving his hands frantically through the window on the fifth floor of the apartment building. Eagan signaled for him to keep quiet as his noise was attracting the nearby Zombies.

They checked around them as they entered the building guarding against any sudden attack from zombies.

COMBAT MODE ACTIVATED

THE COMBAT MODE ALLOWS THE HOST TO HAVE HEIGHTENED SENSES AND ALSO ALLOWS THE HOST TO USE THE X-RAY VISION. THE HOSTS CAN SEE THROUGH WALLS AND CAN SENSE DANGER CLOSE BY.

Eagan felt the effect of the combat mode as all his senses increased. He could hear the heartbeats of everyone present and could also sense all the zombies on the lower floor in amazement; he breathed a low soft" and thanked the system for subconsciously choosing him.

system feeling proud, answered

OF COURSE, MY MAKER IS A ONE-IN-A-CENTURY GENIUS!

With the help of the x-ray vision he got, he saw the zombies hiding in a corner, waiting to ambush them as they walked toward them. Eagan immediately gave his leader a warning.

"Matt! There are two zombies on your Left!"

The unsuspecting Matt was about to argue.

"How did you .... fuck (bang) " he shot the first one in the head, and Eagan Shot the second one without missing.

Feeling grateful, Matt said," Thanks, I didn't see them ... but you were at the back. How come you noticed before I could?"

" I don't know; I just felt it, I guess? " There's no way he's about to explain the x-ray vision thingy.

Matt gave him a weird look but didn't say anything as they continued on

On the ground floor, they killed ten zombies, Matt and Eagan shuffling the kills while others looked out for survivors in the apartment.

"There are survivors in rooms five and eight," Eagan told his captain as he had seen people huddled together in a corner in both rooms through the wall. Without question, Matt went to the door and knocked three times without any response.

Eagan noticed the people move, but no one was brave enough to open the door.

"Hello? Is anybody there? We are a rescue team. If you're in there, please come out," Matt roared to the closed door, and shortly, a middle-aged man with black hair, holding a knife, opened the door.

"Who are you? What do you want? " The man asked coldly. Matt calmly replied to the man without agitating him.

"Hello, sir, we are not here to harm you; we came to rescue survivors around here; if you wish, you can come with us, there is enough food and a place to sleep for you in our shelter, or you can stay here and wait for the military rescue team ... it's your choice."

The middle-aged man looked at every one of them and asked

"Are you sure we can come with you? You won't harm us?"

"We promise to do no such things," Eagan replied

"We'll go with you then."

" How many of you are in there?" Eagan asked

"We are seven in here. There are others in the room numbered eight also."

"Thank you for the information; we'll make sure not to leave anyone behind as long as they want to go with us... get some of your things and wait for us here. We need to check the upper floors also, "Eagan instructed, and by the time he and Matt were done talking to the middle age man, Nick and Shannon were also done with Room eight.

In Room eight, there were three young men and two ladies; two of the men volunteered to go with them to look for other survivors while the others joined the people in room five.

Now their team had two more members wielding knives.

They climbed to the next floor and killed seventeen zombies with no survivors on the floor. On the second floor, there were two survivors and twenty-three Zombies between the ground floor and the second floor. Eagan killed over ten zombies, completing his mission.

YOU LEVELED UP

The more he leveled, the sharper his senses became.

On the third floor, there were no zombies and no survivors; the fourth floor had five zombies; and on the fifth floor, there were over twenty zombies.

" Damn, I think all the zombies on the lower floor came here," one of the men that joined them from the lower floor said

" It's probably because there are more survivors on this floor," Shannon responds.

" Everyone is careful; remember, don't get bitten or scratched, Eagan; you have an accurate shot. Lead the front; I'll guard the back, and the rest of you give support, " Matt instructed, and everyone fell into formation.

Eagan brought out his second pistol, and a system notification came up

YOU CAN UPGRADE YOUR WEAPONS WITH POINTS. WOULD YOU LIKE AN UPGRADE?

"Yes"

CONSUMING 100 POINTS TO UPGRADE TWO PISTOLS

UPGRADE COMPLETE

"I'm ready when you all are," Eagan said while pointing his newly upgraded guns at the incoming zombies.

"We are ready!"

They climbed the final step and silently walked to the middle of the hallway.

Eagan thought in his head while talking to the system

" Do I ask how the guns got upgraded on the spot, or should I pretend I'm not curious?"

YOU'LL KNOW SOON. FOR NOW, FOCUS ON NOT TURNING INTO A ZOMBIE

On the outside, the gun didn't change form or shape, but the weight became lighter, and shooting became more flexible.

"Damn ... I didn't know you were this good at shooting Eagan," Matt said from behind as he shot at the zombies near him.

Eagan replied without missing a beat," I didn't know I was this good either... I guess being in a life-and-death situation brought out my hidden talents for guns?"
