Chapter 62: Separating the body and soul

After two days of unconsciousness, Elvis finally woke up to a throbbing pain in his neck. Slowly but surely, he sat upright and began massaging the soreness away. A voice, one that was both melodious and captivating, filled the room as someone made their way in.

"Ouch my neck," Elvis winced as he looked over to see the source of the voice.

"Ohh, you are already awake," the woman said, her beauty striking even in the dimly lit room.

Elvis couldn't help but feel taken aback by her appearance; she was captivating but not in a typical foxy way. He stuttered out a question, "Uhm, who are you?"

"Ruby," she replied, and her name sounded like a melody on her lips.

Elvis nodded, feeling his confusion lift slightly, but one particular thought lingered in his mind. He couldn't shake off the feeling of unfamiliarity with his surroundings. Ruby noticed his unease and explained, "You went unconscious again, so June brought you over to me to treat you. If not, you might still be unconscious till now
