Extra chapter 1: Back on earth?

As Elvis gradually pried open his eyes, his surroundings slowly came into focus.

The first thing that struck him was the utter strangeness of the place; a murky alleyway that seemed at once both unfamiliar and eerily familiar.

With a growing sense of trepidation, he clambered to his feet, peering warily at his surroundings.

The eerie silence was punctuated only by the faint sound of footsteps in the distance. Slowly, tentatively, he began to make his way out of the alleyway, the unsteady steps of a man plunged into the unknown.

As he reached the exit, he was stunned by what he saw. Was he back on earth? Everywhere around him, he saw people dressed in modern clothing, engaged in the humdrum activities of everyday life.

Some were walking their pets, some were enjoying ice cream, while others were making their way to work.

Yet the world was somehow different; flying cars soared overhead, houses floated
