Betrayal and Broken Heart

Selena and Tom are making passionate love before William comes to interrupt them. Tom quickly put on his boxers, while Selena wrapped a blanket around her body before getting out of bed.

"What are you standing there for? You should have left as soon as you found out that Tom and I were making love. You ruined my beautiful night." Selena gave William an annoyed look.

William wasn't dreaming. His heartache was very real. Selena, the woman he loved so much that he had given everything to, had completely betrayed him.

"I should have asked you what you were doing with that man!" William shouted, venting all his pent-up emotions.

Selena rolled her eyes. "No need to shout like that, I'm not deaf. Just so you know, he's my new boyfriend Tom. We met on vacation and I had a great time with him there."

"You went on vacation with my accommodations, Selena. I saved up for months to fulfill that wish of yours. All the money you spent on your vacation was my money. How come when you're there, you cheat on me?!"

Selena girded her loins and smiled condescendingly at William. "What are you saying? I went on vacation with your money? Just so you know, it was Tom who paid for my stay on the island. I was able to stay in a five-star hotel, eat in a fancy restaurant, and even ride a yacht because of Tom. If it was only with the money you gave me, I would have stayed in a motel and only eaten bread every day."

"Did you forget that just yesterday I sent all the salary I received to you? I gave everything for you, Selena."

"You can only give me a few hundred dollars, William. You can't buy me an expensive bag or take me to a fancy dinner like Tom. And you confidently say you've given me everything."

"I love you so much, Selena. I would do anything for you."

"You think love is enough? No, William! I should be going to the salon, shopping for high class items, living in a luxurious house, not living in poverty with you in this small apartment."

Tom, who had been silent, put his arm around Selena and patted her shoulder. "Never mind, darling. No need to waste time with this poor ex-boyfriend of yours. You better get dressed so we can go to my house and continue our pending activities."

Selena turned to Tom and smiled widely. "You're right, darling. I'm looking forward to living with you in your luxurious home. I'm sure you're asphyxiated in this shithole."

After Selena walked to the closet to get her clothes, Tom approached William. He patted William on the shoulder. "Now Selena is mine. She's too beautiful for a poor man like you."

William's jaw hardened and his face flushed with anger. Fortunately, his self-control was so strong that he didn't punch Tom in the face. Physically, of course William was not inferior to Tom who was an average-looking blond man. However, William couldn't deny that he just couldn't give Selena the luxury.

In the end, William could only stand like a fool watching Selena embraced by Tom leaving the apartment. William gave everything he had to Selena. Every time he receives a paycheck, he only sets aside a little for his future savings with Selena, the rest he gives to her. He was willing to work in two places to fulfill Selena's needs, but this is what he got, betrayal.

"What exactly are you doing? You've been daydreaming like a madman!" Ronald scolded William while girdling his loins.

"I'm sorry, Sir. I'm just out of shape." William bowed in apology.

"Hurry up and get on with your work. Remember, the customer is king here, so you can't let them down. Just because you've been working well, doesn't mean I can't fire you if you make another mistake, you understand?"

William nodded slowly. "Yes, Sit, I understand."

That day William didn't really want to work. His contract at the electronic shop was over so he didn't need to work there anymore. He was hoping to get a day off from the restaurant that day. However, when he asked Ronald for permission, William was still asked to work. Ronald was a strict and sometimes authoritarian person. No matter the reason, as long as his employees could still walk, they had to come to work.

William still needed time to organize his life that was destroyed by Selena. However, even so, he realizes that no matter what happens life must go on. Losing Selena doesn't mean his life is over.

It is true that William is angry with Selena for betraying him, but he is more angry with himself for being so stupid to trust a snake woman like Selena. In fact, Selena had always ignored him. They only dated in the apartment because Selena wouldn't go out with him, as if to emphasize that she was ashamed to have a boyfriend like William.

William does all the housework in their apartment. Selena was only sweet when William received his paycheck and sent it to Selena's account. William should have realized with all those signs that Selena was just playing him. However, he was blinded by his love for Selena.

Andre, who had just arrived after delivering a customer's order, grinned at William. "No need to show your moody face, I'm sure your girlfriend must have finally realized and left you, right? She should have done it a long time ago."

"What exactly is your problem with me?!" snapped William who already couldn't contain his annoyance at Andre. "I never bothered you, but you always provoke me!"

The restaurant patrons who were enjoying dinner immediately turned their heads towards William who was yelling.

"Gosh, people are uneducated, so they have no manners and yell like they live in the jungle," said one of the customers.

Andre winced as he heard William yelling at him. All this time William had never responded to any of his insults, but for some reason he suddenly dared to yell when there were many customers. "Why are you yelling at me? What was I said it wrong? If it's not because you got dumped, what else would make an orphan like you sad?"

"Whether I get dumped or not is none of your business!"

"Of course it's none of my business if you can do a good job. But you keep making trouble."

William clenched his hands into fists. He was silent because what Andre said was true.

"I wonder why the boss would accept someone like you to work here. You didn't even graduate from high school. If it wasn't for the restaurant's desperate need for workers, you wouldn't be working here," said Andre.
