Melissa and Baron Ax sat in the conference room quietly as the announcer called the latest rankings for net wealth value at the annual conference. The number one as usual was whoever was the head of the Jones Family and no one was surprised to see Helen's name at the top of the list.Baron had heard about a lot of Leo's adventures and he was beginning to worry that he'll actually lose to someone who had not even a penny to his name less than a month ago.Melissa could feel Baron's worries and she also was uncertain about whether or not he might win the bet. She had cut ties with Leo and her partnership with the Jones Corporation was only in name now as they had stopped operating as partners. She believed she had picked the right side in this war but somewhere deep down she was still thinking about all the numerous possibilities of failure."We would like to stop the listing to announce the arrival of the head of the Jones Corporation, Miss Helen Jones and the CEO of LD Allied, Mr Leon
"We have to go on the offensive Helen" Leo said as he and Helen arrived back at the mansion. "Offensive? They are attacking us from multiple fronts, how do we know which side to attack first?" Helen sighed as she plopped down into the sofa."We don't. We just hit the side which will hurt them the most and when they all come running we snuff them out at the root" Leo said as he poured the both of them a drink from the bottle of brandy on the table."Which side will hurt them the most then?" She asked as she collected the glass from him and downed it in one long sip."Who else? The stupid false god. If we take him down the rest of them will go down way easier."The false god? I thought we were going to go after Damon and co to get at him?" Helen asked in confusion."I know but I don't think we have the time to do that now. I'll try to find out it's location from Kyrian and see if I can stop it before any harm to anyone" Leo said as he pulled out his phone and began texting Kyrian."I d
Leo parked his car a long distance from the entrance to the Red Fruit Mangrove and proceeded to hike slowly into the forest. He was nervous and jumpy and his eyes kept on skittering from left to right as he expected monsters to jump out at him at every turn.He watched the beautiful red fruits dangle from the branches of the trees and felt an almost arcane attachment to them. He knew to they were poisonous and that was common knowledge but he was from the Divine Clan and was immune to poison so he had nothing to fear from the fruit. He reached up and plucked one of a tree and stared at it intently for a while before biting hard into it. He didn't know if he had to peel off the back or lick through the skin but he didn't want to think at that moment as he let his mouth savor the taste off the fruit. It had a silky and sour taste that almost made him spit it up but he didn't dare remove his teeth from inside the fruit. He sucked on the juice for a few more seconds before forcing the fr
Leo wondered around for a few hours inside the Red Fruit Mangrove dodging strange supernatural creatures and escaping from close death situations. He was at his wit's end and he was about to call of his search and go home to prepare a defense from an unknown enemy with unknown capabilities."What on earth am I even looking for. I knew this was a bad idea" he whispered to himself as he skipped over a camouflaged snake in the green grass. He was allergic to toxins but getting bit by snakes was never a nice thing to go through. He was about to quit his search when he noticed a single tree which was fifteen times as large and tall as any other tree in the Mangrove. In the CCTV images of the place the tree was called The Big Red Ben but as he looked at the marvel from under he couldn't dare call it by such a ridiculous name."Well even if I'm not supposed to climb other trees I'm sure this has to be the most special tree in this entire forest and since this mission seems to be a dead end I
The silence dragged on for several minutes as the twines tightened around Leo's body. He refused to squirm or clench his teeth or scream for help even though he was going through terrible pain because he didn't want to appear weak. "You're lying. My son is dead, he died years ago" Terry said in a doubtful voice."No, it was the housemaid's son Greg that took a bullet for me on that day before I escaped. So you knew we were all going to be killed?" Leo asked with disgust in his eyes."You can hate me all you want but I owed a duty to be the vessel of god and when duty calls nothing else matters" Terry replied while shaking his head."Don't give me that bullshit. You betrayed everybody. You killed your wife, you killed your clan and you even tried to kill your son. You are a disgrace" Leo said in anger while glaring at his father."I don't owe you an explanation for my actions and if you were in my position I do not think you would have made a different decision" his father said in a d
Helen downed five glasses of bourbon without blinking as she felt the tips of her fingers start getting numb. She couldn't afford to give her self time to think because she knew what the only thing on her mind was."Why did he have to go? We could have just left the country and gone to live in some settlement in the North pole" she sighed to herself as her words left her mouth in a long drawl."I can't lose him too, not after grandfather, I can't" she sobbed quietly as she downed another glass to bury her sorrows.Ding! The doorbell rang and she flew off her chair and raced to the door before the doorman could reach it. She hoped within her heart that it would be Leo at the door but when she pulled the door open she was disappointed at who she saw standing there.Kyrian Homer was standing outside the door looking like a disheveled rat and just the sight of him brought Helen's rage out of her in waves."You!" She said in an accusatory tone, "What have you done to Leo? You sent him into
"What?' Leo's voice rang out dull in the empty void he was floating in and he heard no echoes. "No walls? Just endless bottomless darkness" he said again to himself. "Damn this is the worst punishment you could give to a person. He had been falling endlessly for hours until he realized that he was not even actually falling anywhere there was just something weird in that endless void that gave one the feeling of him plummeting to his death. Once he realized this he was able to turn around to float upright. He had been there for over a day according to his phone which he had used sparsely. There was no cell signal inside the void but at least he could mark the time with his phone. He was bored out of his mind floating in place in an infinitely black void with nothing to do but think and he had thought a lot in that long time. His father killed his mother and the rest of his clan and also ordered his death and the deaths of all the other children of the Divine Clan. "Maybe the
Leo walked wearily through the unending darkness, his only beacon of hope was the bright light ahead. It seemed distant yet tantalizingly close, always just out of reach. The darkness pressed in around him like a suffocating blanket, threatening to consume him whole. But Leo pressed on, driven by an instinctual need to follow the light, to escape the abyss that threatened to swallow him.As he ventured deeper into the shadowy labyrinth, Leo's senses sharpened, attuned to every whisper of movement and every subtle shift in the air. He knew he was not alone. The darkness whispered sinister promises, weaving illusions that toyed with his mind. Yet each time doubt crept in, Leo's resolve strengthened, his grip on the light tightening.Suddenly, the darkness ahead coalesced into a monstrous form—a towering, twisted figure with glowing eyes that pierced through the gloom. Leo's heart raced as fear threatened to paralyze him, but he held out the light before him. The creature hesitated, its
