8 He Isn't Just Any Ordinary Skilled Doctor.

Helen's face turned sour when she heard her grandfather call Leo's name.

She had wanted to hug him when he woke up but now that he was mentioning the name of a man that she disliked, she frowned and kept her hands to herself.

"Why are you looking for Leonardo Dubois?" Helen asked irritatedly, "he almost killed you."

If her grandfather was shocked by that statement, he didn't show it because his facial expression remained cold, devoid of emotions as he asked again, "Where is Leonardo Dubois?"

"Grandpa," Helen tried to speak softly but her voice betrayed her and dripped with thick irritation, "you don't need Leonardo Dubois, I've already called Mr. Greg."

For the first time since he woke up, the old man's facial expression changed to a frown and he opened his mouth to say something. However, whatever he wanted to say was interrupted by the sudden entrance of a man into the room.

SLAM!

The door swung open with so much force and ferocity that it seemed like the door would fall out of its hinges.

The sudden entrance caused Helen and her grandfather to turn in the direction of the door only to see a tall, lanky man in a well-fitting suit standing there, panting like a lion that had just finished his hunt.

"Mr Greg!" Helen's face brightened up.

"I rushed here as fast I could when I heard the news young Miss," Greg said in between pants, "what happened?"

Mr Greg was the chairman of the State's Medical Association, he was tall, and lanky and wore medicated spectacles that protected his ocean blue eyes.

It was because of that passion that he had raced to the treatment room to answer Helen's call for his assistance.

He never thought he could get the chance to treat Chairman Maxwell, this would certainly help him with his resume.

"Please check my grandfather." She said after eyeing the lead doctor contemptuously.

Greg was a bit confused by Helen's order. When one of the doctors called him, he had been told that the old man was having a seizure and was dying, he was surprised when he came into the room and saw the man sitting strongly on the bed as if nothing was wrong.

Greg didn't let his confusion and curiosity hold him back, he quickly moved toward the old man and began the routine check-up. It was during that routine check-up that he found the small, concise wound on the grandfather's chest.

A frown instantly made its way to his face and he asked, "Who did this?"

The graveness in Greg's tone unsettled Helen and a feeling of fear and worry clouded her. She began to fear that maybe Leo had done something terrible to her grandfather.

"This cut..." Greg continued in an impressed tone, "...is one of the ancient healing techniques of the Arcane doctors. It's part of a catalog of techniques that have been lost for ages. I didn't even know that there was anyone in the world who knew this skill... this is amazing."

"Wait a minute..." Helen was shocked by the words that had just come out of Greg's mouth, "so what you're trying to say is that whoever made that cut is a skilled doctor who knew what he was doing."

"Young miss..." Greg looked at her intently, "The person who did this isn't just any ordinary skilled doctor, this person is a genius in our field. The person is a national treasure who must be protected at all costs."

Helen couldn't believe her ears, 'so that homeless-looking man was extremely talented in the medical field.... no wonder grandfather wanted him to treat him.'

"Young Miss..." Greg spoke up again and snapped Helen out of her thoughts, "If it won't be of any inconvenience to you, I would love to meet this master."

"Yes Helen," the old man added, "we would all love to meet him. Bring him back here at once."

Helen wanted to open her mouth and refuse their requests, but from the expression on their faces, she knew that it would amount to nothing. She sighed to herself and reluctantly walked out of the room with the bodyguard trailing after her.

It had been almost an hour since Leo left the Jones' mansion, he was just walking on the street with no intention of going home.

He wouldn't go home when he had a lot of things to think about.

...His sudden divorce and the vicious tackle from the bodyguard back in the Jones mansion.

The thought of it made him rub his arms and neck which ached terribly from the force that the bodyguard used to hold him hostage.

'My life is just shitty...' he thought to himself, 'no one cares about me... I'm better off dead than alive. I'm sure no one will even care if I die now.'

Suddenly, a familiar Benz car stopped beside him and he turned towards it. Even before the windows were rolled down, he knew who it was and he sighed.

'What does she want again?' Leo thought as the window of the car was rolled down to reveal the beautiful radiating face of the Young Miss, 'Could it be that my technique did not work? is that even possible?'

"My grandfather wants to see you..." Helen grumbled,

Leo felt himself breathe a deep sigh of relief and he knew that his technique had been successful.

"Does he want to see me or do you just want to see your bodyguard give me another ass whooping?" Leo asked as he cocked his neck to the side,

A feeling of embarrassment washed over the young miss, causing her face to redden a little. She tightened her grip on the steering wheel and averted her gaze from Leo's eyes, "I'm sorry."

Leo was slightly shocked that the proud, high, and mighty young miss would say sorry to a nobody like him. He simply shrugged in response and got back in the car for Helen to take him back to the mansion.

The old man, Maxwell was elated beyond words to see Leo in person and the chairman of the medical association was still skeptical because of Leo's appearance. He had expected Leo to be dressed in expensive ancient robes with ancient scrolls packed in a dirty brown bag. However, the appearance that greeted him was nothing more than an average man.

Maxwell, on the other hand, did not care about Leo's appearance. He held Leo's hand as he sat on the bed and looked into the young man's eyes, "Words cannot conveniently convey my gratitude for what you have done for me now. I know that I should be the one granting you favors now but I want you to forgive me because there is one more favor that I want you to grant me."
