Finding The Fresh Blood

"He's a vampire!" Max said, further clarifying who John was.

"No way!" Gwen looked at John. The young man was Gwen's best friend since childhood, who had disappeared without a word. This was the first time she had seen John again and heard such a terrible accusation from a stranger.

"Shit! Who exactly is this young man? If he is not an ordinary human, what clan is he from?" John whispered as he began to panic. He shot an intimidating look at Gwen and the townspeople who heard Max's words. "I need to be able to hide my identity from Gwen and this young man!" he whispered bitterly again.

"You can't just make accusations! He's my childhood friend. If he were a vampire, he would have sucked my blood by now!" Gwen snapped. "Besides, he's resistant to the sun. Since he's okay with sunlight, you can't make things up and accuse my friend!"

John smiled happily since he didn't have to expend any energy on the matter.

"Never mind John, don't listen to this crazy young man. Let's go!" Gwen said and pulled John's hand. The young man smiled victoriously at Max. Max just watched in silence as Gwen led John away, not giving him a chance to explain.

Then John turned to Max. He flashed Max a horrible smile, showing his sharp teeth. Max's eyes widened. "Damn, this guy's a real vampire!" screamed Max. John teased Max by trying to bite Gwen's neck.

Max ran, caught up with John, and stopped him. His hands clenched into fists, then swung as his feet stopped. John's eyes widened in shock. Unfortunately, he was too late to dodge.

Thump.

Max's hard punch broke John's nose and made it bleed. His body bounced, then twisted, and finally fell onto the car until the hood cracked.

Everyone looked surprised. Max's punch had attracted so much attention. Gwen, too, was wide-eyed at what had just happened in front of her. Her mouth was agape, her tiny hands clutching her head. She was in shock.

"JOHN!" Gwen shouted. She climbed into the car and helped John. "Are you okay, John?" The girl helped John up.

"I'm fine, thanks," John said as he cleaned his dirty clothes. "Can I ask you a favor?"

"What is it, John?"

"Please block that crazy young man so I can get away from him. I have to get back to work, my master must be waiting, and he will be furious that I have been gone so long," John pleaded.

Gwen felt sorry for him and nodded. Then he got down and looked at her briefly. Then he made an expression that made Gwen very angry with Max's raised eyebrows with their tips knit together. Forehead wrinkled. She walked over to Max.

"You're out of your mind, you bastard!" she swore as she punched Max in the chest. John took the opportunity to get away. But the young man remained silent. Gwen's blows didn't hurt him. Instead, the young man sniffed the binding scent of Gwen's body.

"This scent? Why does this woman's body smell so good and similar to last night? Is this woman the woman from last night at the ranch?" Max's heart wandered. The scent stimulated his lust even more until his blood was boiling. His heart was beating faster. He wanted to avoid her, but instead. He enjoyed every second of Gwen's body scent entering his nostrils.

"You want to kill my girlfriend, huh?" Gwen cursed again. Max approached Gwen's neck. She noticed that he was acting strangely. "Hey... what are you doing?" Gwen pushed Max away from her.

"You freak!" Gwen cursed and looked at Max in disgust.

"Wait!" Max grabbed Gwen's wrist. He stopped her in her tracks. "I need to talk to you about something."

"Let go!" Gwen pushed him away. "We have nothing to talk about, you and I don't know each other. So we should never talk again!" She continued and walked away, leaving Max alone.

"Hey... wait! This is important," Max shouted. Gwen pointed her middle finger at Max, and he realized that John was no longer there. "Damn, where did that vampire go? It's all because of that girl!" she thought angrily. He continued on his way to the campus.

Meanwhile, John had just arrived at the old warehouse. Max waited for John's arrival, "Where have you been? Have you been gone for almost two hours?" Alex said worriedly. He was more concerned about Ursula who was still in pain.

"Sorry, sir, I just went downtown to get some drinks and food," John said, putting down his shopping bags. "Please have a drink, miss!" The young man handed Ursula some water.

"But..." Alex noticed John's scarred face. "What happened to your face? Did you lose, John?" The waiter hid his bruised face from Max's punch earlier.

"It's nothing, sir. It was just a misunderstanding on the street!" John said reasonably. But Alex didn't believe John's words.

"You're not lying, are you? Just tell me if you get beaten up, and I'll make it up to you!" Alex growled.

"Ah... no, Sir. It's a misunderstanding, no exaggeration!" concluded John, trying to dissuade the easily provoked Alex.

"But..." his words trailed off. Suddenly his illness returned, and his heart seemed to stop. He was sweating profusely. "Aaagh! This damn disease is coming back!" she whispered in desperation.

"Sir... what's wrong with you?" John rushed to hold Alex's body, which was about to fall.

"Alex... are you okay?" Ursula worried about Alex. She knew how the disease had manifested itself in Alex. The boy had lost a lot of blood to help his mother when she was dying from Lucas. Alex let his mother suck half of his blood, after which Alex was unconscious for days, and the disease began to attack his heart.

"I'm fine, Bi!" Alex pleaded. But in reality, the pain was killing him. John helped him to sit on the ground.

"You need to find blood from the werewolf clan immediately. At least human blood smells different from other humans!" Ursula said.

"Will I only recover with their blood, Auntie? And it's very hard to find, wasn't the werewolf clan already slaughtered by the old man?" Alex still remembered how his father had sadistically slaughtered the werewolves and other clans.

"Yeah, you know the chances of finding them are slim!"

"I think so," John said, suddenly remembering Gwen and Max. But he couldn't smell who Max was. He knew he was either a normal human or from another clan than werewolves.

Ursula and Alex looked at John seriously. "What do you mean, John? You discovered the existence of smelling humans and werewolves?"

John nodded. "Do you remember, sir, that three men were ordered to find fresh blood?"

Alex nodded. "And?" Alex was curious about where John was going with this.

"I seem to have found the werewolf. And I also found out who the owner of the special blood with a good body scent is!" John explained.

Ursula and Alex looked pleased. "That's great! Where did you find her, John?" asked Ursula. She was happy that her nephew still had a chance to live.

"In the middle of town, when they were leaving for college. I met them on my way home!"

"Take me there, John. We have to hurry before Lucas finds them and makes them victims of his experiments!" Alex got up and prepared to leave.

John nodded. He would do anything to cure his master's illness. "Wait... I'm coming!" Ursula did not want to be left behind to help her nephew.
