Meet John

Eight hours after passing out.

Max awoke from his stupor. His wound was already bandaged. "Where am I?" he whispered to himself as he massaged his still dizzy head.

"You're finally awake, sir!" Traynor brought Max breakfast.

"What about me, Traynor?" asked Max, trying to remember what happened last night. Traynor didn't answer but placed the breakfast on Max's nightstand.

"Last night you went out on a full moon night, then you passed out and were almost kidnapped by three vampires in the south," Traynor explained. He noticed that Max was still confused.

"WHAT?" Max looked shocked. "But wait! Why did the night of the full moon turn me into a werewolf? Am I a werewolf?" Max asked. All this time he had refused to admit that he was a werewolf, even though Traynor had told Max who he was.

"Yes, how many times have I told you, sir? That you are a werewolf!" Traynor put Max's breakfast on the table by the bed.

"That can't be, haven't I changed since I was a child on full moon nights? But why should I change now?" Max was a little confused. He often went out even on full moon nights.

"That's because you're not yet seventeen. You have to remember, you're a pureblood, every pureblood can change at exactly seventeen!" Traynor explained.

"And another thing you must remember, sir. Your wolf instincts will come out and run wild, as will the power that will rise in your body!" Traynor continued. Max was silent, stunned by Trynor's words.

"No wonder my body suddenly became hot. Then my hunger, bloodlust, and desire to kill just exploded!" Max muttered under his breath.

"And what else do you feel?" Traynor sat down in the small chair by the window.

"My sense of smell became acute. I smelled the scent of a girl's body, it was so different. A scent that smells so good and tantalizes my lust!" Max replied. Traynor just smiled, then got up from his seat.

"Why are you smiling, Trynor?"

"Every werewolf will experience changes in his sex drive. So be careful. Another thing, be careful when you meet vampires," Trynor ordered the newly transformed Max. Max was much older, 150 years old. For werewolves, 150 years was the age of puberty for normal humans.

"You better eat soon and go to college. It's your first day of college, right? And remember, don't do anything stupid on the first day of class!" Traynor said. Then he closed the door to Max's room. He left his master to contemplate the changes in him as he entered the teenage phase.

Max was silent, still sitting on the edge of the bed looking at his hands. He couldn't believe that he was a pureblood werewolf. He also hadn't expected to eat livestock during a full moon.

"Then whose scent was it last night? It smells good, and it's like I want the owner of that smell!" her mind whispered. Then she got up from her seat. And got dressed to go to college. "I have to find out who the owner of this smell is!"

Meanwhile, in an abandoned warehouse. Deep in the south, in the center of the city. Alex was asleep next to Ursula, who had passed out overnight, sitting with her head down. Meanwhile, John was busy buying drinks and food for Alex and Ursula.

"Alex!" Ursula called awake. She found her nephew asleep, sitting up and looking down. Her hand touched him, waking him.

"Auntie... are you awake?" said Alex with a happy smile.

Ursula just blinked in response. "John... hurry up and bring Ursula some water. But there was no reply from John.

His servant hadn't returned from the grocery store in town. "Just a moment, Bi. I'll see John outside first!" She continued, getting up and looking for John. There was no one outside, just dust on the floor.

"Where did that boy go?" thought Alex. He didn't dare look any further for John. The young man couldn't have left Ursula alone in such a badly injured state.

Then John...

Alex's faithful servant was in a hurry. He had a cautious look on his face, glancing back now and then, keeping an eye on his surroundings. He was afraid that Lucas' men were close by. But...

Thump.

John accidentally bumped into someone in front of him, dropping his shopping bag. "Sorry, I didn't see you in front of me!" John said regretfully. He rushed to pick up his fallen groceries. The man helped him.

Unintentionally, John's scent picked up a different odor than usual. "That smell? This person is not human... but..." His head raised was quickly. He stared at the handsome young man with a generally different scent. A distinctive smell, but John had not memorized the smell.

His nerves continued to stare, "Is he a vampire like me?" John thought. But he was very familiar with the smell of vampires. "No, this is not a vampire smell! Then who exactly is this young man?" thought John.

"Hey... are you okay?" asked the young man, who was none other than Max. His hand kept waving at the dreamy John as he stared intently at him. "Is there something wrong with me?" asked Max again, feeling uncomfortable being stared at by a man he didn't know.

"Oh... yeah, it's fine! Sorry, I was daydreaming!" laughed John. Then he took the bag of groceries from Max's hand. "Thanks for helping me!" said John, and left in a hurry.

But Max's mind was the same. He was prejudiced and suspected that John was a vampire. But he did not want to do anything rash that might reveal his identity as a werewolf.

"Vampire, how dare he wander around in the middle of a crowded city like this? Is he looking for prey in the morning?" Max whispered as he stared at John.

Not far away, John bumped into someone again. This time it was a woman. Max's sense of smell was so keen that he stopped his steps as the scent of the woman's body wafted into his nostrils.

"That smell?" Max turned his head quickly. His wolf instincts were aroused when the scent of the woman's body was so luscious. "It's the same smell as last night, and it's coming from her body," Max thought and turned around. He stood and looked enviously at the familiar-looking John.

"But why does this vampire seem so familiar with this woman? Could it be that he knows she has a different scent and wants to suck her blood?" Max was thinking like a jealous man. His heart was beating so fast that his blood was rushing through his veins.

"Damn, then I have to stop her!" His steps quickened. Max tugged on John's shoulder, "Hey... stop that!" he said, then...

Thump.

The bag of groceries hit John in the cheek and fell for the third time.

"John!" the woman screamed, who was none other than Gwen, "Hey... have you gone crazy hitting people for no reason, huh?" she ranted as she glared and helped John up.

"Are you all right, John?" asked Gwen. The cut on John's cheek was pretty bad. Blood flowed from his nose. Max was silent without answering, but his eyes intimidated John. There was a sudden pang of jealousy in Max's heart. But the young man didn't know why he should be jealous of John.

"What are you still doing there, crazy man? Go away and leave us alone!" Gwen snapped. She was furious with Max.

"I don't want to go! If I go, he'll hurt you, you stupid woman!" Max said matter-of-factly. Gwen was stunned.

"What?"

"Him!" Max pointed at John. "A bloodsucking creature!" said Max. John's eyes widened, as did Gwen's.

"Wh-what did you say?"

"He's a vampire!" said Max, making it clearer who John was.

"No way!" Gwen looked at John. The young man was Gwen's best friend since childhood, who had disappeared without a word. This was the first time she had seen John again and received such a terrible accusation from a stranger.
