Seeing the message of the mission, Steve Hart immediately drove his car towards the direction Agatha had gone with her friends.
Although Steve Hart blamed Agatha for his current situation in the Cattegirn family, Agatha was not the one who participated in treating him badly and even tried to protect him several times from the Cattegirn family's inappropriate treatment.
Now Steve’s instinct knew that there are bad things Eric and his other friends want to do to Agatha, of course Steve Hart could not just let this happen, especially since Agatha is his wife.
Not long after Steve Hart drove his car, he finally caught up with Agatha who apparently entered a bar not far from Avebury University.
Not only them, but many other students also entered the bar. Making Agatha’s excuse of attending the welcoming of new students, proved to be true.
‘What evil plans do you have for my wife, Eric?’ muttered Steve Hart.
As a man, Steve Hart had assumed that Eric had feelings for Agatha, which had not changed even after Agatha had married. In addition, Steve's identity as a useless son-in-law in the Cattegirn family has also been almost everyone knows, this must have made Eric even more daring to crave Agatha because he believes he can snatch her.
Steve just waited in his car trying to observe the situation, he did not want to suddenly enter and mess up for no apparent reason because it could make Agatha angry with him.
Coincidentally, while Steve was watching the bar, Agatha and her friends chose to sit by the window so Steve could see what was happening from inside his car.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at first, Agatha seemed to be having fun with her friends and other students in the bar.
As the clock struck 8pm, more alcoholic drinks began to fill the table where Agatha was.
Steve's eyes turned sharp after seeing Eric and his friends start trying to get Agatha to drink more than she should. This was not just his guess, as he saw Agatha refusing several times but Eric and his friends still forced Agatha to drink.
Steve Hart, who could not stand it, got out of his car and entered the bar.
Steve's reason to go straight to Agatha became stronger after seeing Agatha start to lean her head on the table, looking limp like she was half-conscious.
"I can't be late," Steve muttered as he quickened his pace.
Steve entered the bar in a hurry when most people were enjoying themselves inside, so his presence went unnoticed by Agatha and her friends.
"Eric, Agatha is already drunk as planned. Your promise to give us a gift is true, isn't it?" asked one of the guys who was also sitting at the table where Agatha was.
"That's right, you didn't forget your promise to us if you succeeded in making Agatha yours, did you?" said another.
A smirk appeared on Eric Daran's face, "You guys just relax, after I make Agatha mine completely tonight, I will definitely give you the reward. Just wait me while I’m having fun with her sexy body!"
"Haha, that's the Eric we know."
"Right, Agatha won't mind this anyway. Because when compared to that rubbish husband of hers, Eric is definitely much more worthy of being her lover."
Eric Daran seemed to enjoy every compliment that came out of his friends' mouths. Just like them, Eric was not happy to see a sparkling gem like Agatha fall into the hands of scum like Steve.
"Tonight, you will be all mine," Eric Daran whispered into Agatha's ear.
Eric Daran was just about to embrace Agatha when his arm was suddenly grabbed by someone. Eric, who was annoyed, immediately turned his head to see who dared to do this.
"Where do you want to put your hand, you bastard?!"
BAM!
A hard punch directly hit Eric, this made him fall down from his seat.
"Damn it, how dare you...."
Eric Daran looked stunned as he recognized the person who hit him, none other than Steve who had been there for who knows how long.
Not satisfied with just one punch, Steve began to prepare to try to attack Eric again. Unfortunately, it hadn't happened yet, Eric had already shouted for security.
This caused a stir in the bar, the bar security also came immediately not long after Eric's shout was heard.
"This is going to be troublesome," muttered Steve Hart.
Eric pointed his finger at Steve, then shouted at the newly arrived security, "You, get that scum out of here!"
The security guard, who didn't even know what was going on but had already been shouted at by Eric like that, was clearly confused.
"Mr. Eric, what's wrong? Why are you asking me to throw him out?"
"Why ask instead of doing it right away? Do you want me to report you to your superiors for daring to refuse my order?!" Eric said in a high tone due to emotion.
Security, knowing how far Eric's words could affect his superiors, finally started moving towards Steve because he didn't want to get angry let alone fired from there.
"Well, Dude, don't blame me for throwing you out of here... blame your own stupidity for daring to offend Mr. Eric," said the security to Eric.
"What? Why should you take his word for it when you don't even know the real of the problem?" asked Steve because he felt the security's actions were unfair.
"Don't talk so much, rubbish. The problem clearly stems from you having the nerve to hit me!" exclaimed Eric Daran.
Hearing this, security became even more determined to drag Steve out of there. Not to mention, what Eric said was confirmed by almost everyone in the bar.
The security stared at Steve then snapped him, "How can you act innocent when you are the culprit, don't think you can get away with it after daring to offend Mr. Eric who is an honoured customer of this bar?!" exclaimed the bar security.
Steve Hart immediately tried to deny it by telling the truth, that he came only to help Agatha who wanted to be harassed by Eric.
Security immediately turned to Agatha who now looked helplessly leaning her head on the table, a woman he knew to be no less influential than Eric and perhaps even more so than Eric in the city.
Looking at Agatha's condition, what Steve said could most likely happen. This made security hesitant about who to trust between the two.
"Why are you keep silence? Don't tell me you believe that rubbish nonsense?" asked Eric Daran, looking dissatisfied after seeing the security looking indecisive.
"Mr Eric, I can't arbitrarily decide if it's like this," said the security.
The security bar was currently feeling conflicted. If he sided with Eric, it could be that what Steve said was the truth and he would incur Agatha's wrath, and vice versa.
"Hey, sir. Why are you hesitating like that? Are you doubting Eric Daran's words?"
"Sir, you are just security. You will regret for making Eric angry, especially when it happened just because you believed that rubbish."
Many of Eric's friends as well as the others began to pressure the bar's security while cornering Steve, this made the security's doubts disappear because Steve's words were most likely not true.
"Don't tell me that you believed his bullshit..." muttered Steve, realizing that something annoying was about to happen to him.
"Just come with me, you troublemaker!" exclaimed the bar security, tugging on Steve's arm."No, get away from me!" Steve Hart tried to struggle to release the security bar's grip on his arm, but was unsuccessful due to the difference in their strength."Don’t bother yourself fighting back, rubbish! Just go and I’ll take care of Agatha," Eric Daran said with a smirk on his face.Steve's anger immediately provoked after seeing a smirk on Eric’s face, Steve began to think of ways to release the grip of the security hand so that he could beat Eric who had dared to be presumptuous. In the midst of it all, a woman's familiar voice shout out and brought everything that was happening to a sudden halt."What's going on... Steve, why are you here?" Agatha rubbed her eyes several times, as if confused by what was happening."Get your hand off my arm!" Steve shouted at the security bar, which surprised the security bar into releasing its grip.At that moment, Eric tried to explain to Agatha with
Agatha Cattegirn had just opened her eyes when the dizziness hit her head, she tried to remember what had happened to her."Are you feeling better?"A familiar voice rang out, Agatha immediately turned her head to see who was speaking.Steve Hart was sitting beside Agatha while driving the car, this made Agatha wonder even more about what had just happened to her."Why are you here? Not to mention... didn't I tell you before, that I can't go home yet because I must join the welcoming party?"Steve Hart frowned, wondering if Agatha really did not remember what had happened."I'm sorry if I'm being presumptuous, but I had to pick you up from the party because of an urgent matter," explained Steve Hart, "You're probably still feeling fuzzy from the effects of the too much alcohol you had earlier."Not to mention, Steve was also unsure if Agatha would still have faith in him if she was fully sober at the bar."Did something bad happen to make you do that?" asked Agatha Cattegirn, feeling
After Callista managed to get Steve away from the Cattegirn family mansion, she finally loosened her grip on Steve's arm.Steve Hart glanced at his surroundings, it was a street with trees on the right and left sides. There are almost no other houses, because the area is indeed an elite area where the distance between houses is quite far.Steve Hart, who already knew there was something bad Callista wanted to do to him, immediately put his guard up because the unexpected could happen at any time.Sure enough, not long from behind one of the trees appeared a man who was none other than Eric Daran."Is he going to help you to make me regret it?" asked Steve Hart to Callista.Callista just didn't respond, in addition, Eric continued to walk closer before swinging his fist at Steve.Steve Hart, who was alert from the start, was able to avoid the punch quite easily, this made Eric even more dark eyes by continuing to try to land his punches on Steve. In the middle of each of Eric's punches
In the midst of the argument between Callista and Eric, Steve Hart tried to get up with his remaining strength. What Steve Hart did, immediately caught Callista's attention. The woman immediately told this to Eric, who was previously still busy explaining how his money could make it easier for them to escape the law."In your thought, having money means you can do everything, right?" asked Steve Hart to Eric.Eric Daran was taken aback, but the shock was soon replaced by a sardonic smile."Exactly, that's why scum like you shouldn't look for trouble with me."Steve Hart smiled sarcastically at that, much to the astonishment of both Callista and Eric."Hey, have you lost your sanity?" asked Callista Cattegirn.“So what? After all, my sanity has been lost for a long time, precisely after I stepped into your rotten Cattegirn family," replied Steve Hart, himself not sure what underlies his courage to say it all.Callista's face immediately turned ugly, "Eric, do something. Finish him or m
Steve Hart hurriedly made his way back to the Cattegirn family residence, concerned that Callista might divulge something unsettling to Agatha about what had just happened.Upon Steve's arrival at home, he found Agatha in the living room, enjoying her breakfast."What happened to you?" Agatha inquired, eyeing Steve's bruised face."Oh, just a tumble during my morning run," Steve explained.Agatha nodded, leaving Steve wondering if she had heard anything about the recent events from Callista."What's up?" Agatha asked, sensing something odd about Steve's demeanor."Oh, it's nothing... have you seen Callista by any chance?""Callista? Was she here? Where? I didn't see her," Agatha replied, glancing around the house.Steve sighed in relief, realizing that Callista had likely left immediately after picking up her forgotten car."Hufthhh... seems like maintaining one's dignity pays off," Steve muttered.Steve had a sense of why Callista might have withheld the recent happenings – not wanti
The store manager had discussed Agatha's request with his staff, and in the end, they could only approach Agatha with somewhat displeased expressions on their faces.Agatha immediately sensed what the manager wanted to convey and felt deeply disappointed."Miss Agatha, although this seems unlikely... I can try to arrange it if you truly want to have this diamond necklace," the manager suddenly said."Can you? If it's possible, please make it happen," Agatha replied.A meaningful smile appeared on the manager's face, triggering suspicion in Steve Hart's mind."What about a dinner with me? I can provide you with this diamond necklace with the money you have now. But you'll need to pay the rest soon because my boss will be upset if he finds out about this," the store manager explained with a broad smile.Steve Hart immediately clenched his fists, confirming the manager's interest in Agatha.Steve Hart wanted to persuade Agatha to reject the store manager's proposal, although it seemed un
"Sir, stop fooling around and leave." The store manager seemed annoyed with Steve Hart's nonsense, thinking Steve was doing all this just to disturb him from getting closer to Agatha.Feeling the situation becoming more complicated, Agatha, who had been silent until then, finally made a decision."Steve, forget about the necklace; let's just leave," Agatha said, intending to pull Steve's arm to leave the place."No, you really want the necklace, right? If it is so, just wait for me a moment. I'll pay it for you." Steve Hart released Agatha's hand from his arm's grip.Agatha was genuinely curious about what made Steve seem different, as if he could truly follow through on what he said."Can you trust me... just this once?" asked Steve to Agatha.Steve's words carried a lot of seriousness, melting Agatha's resolve and somehow letting Steve proceed with what he wanted to do.Feeling that he had gained Agatha's approval, Steve was determined to get it done faster.Steve attempted again to
On the way back home, Agatha remained silent. Her mind was filled with various troubling questions. Meanwhile, Steve realized something; from the start, Agatha had been clutching tightly onto the necklace pendant that now adorned her neck in a beautiful loop.‘Does she truly harbor feelings for me?’ Steve mused quietly to himself. ‘Damn it! Here I am, ruminating on trivialities again,’ he chided himself in silence.Midway through their journey, Agatha, who had been silent from the outset, suddenly initiated a conversation. "Steve, where did you get a million dollars to buy this necklace?"Steve Hart paused for a moment, unsure how to explain. Even if he tried to convey the intricacies of his system to Agatha, he was certain she'd deem him insane."For now, I can't delve into the details. But rest assured, I've never engaged in anything criminal to earn money," Steve replied vaguely.Agatha furrowed her brow, compelling Steve to sense the need for a more detailed explanation.Rubbing h
