CHAPTER SEVENTY ONE
After the tense encounter with Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Yvonne, determined to find a solution, hastily left the apartment to explore any possible avenues to borrow money.

The evening air was heavy with worry as she navigated through the neighborhood, knocking on doors and making desperate inquiries.

Hours later, Mrs. Yvonne returned home, wearied by her fruitless attempts to secure the funds needed to stave off eviction.

Victor, anxiously awaiting her return, met her at the door with a hopeful expression. "Mom, did you manage to get the money?"

Mrs. Yvonne's face, however, told a different story. Her eyes were red, and the weight of the impending crisis bore down on her shoulders. "No, Victor. I tried, but it seems there's nowhere to turn. We're in a dire situation, and I couldn't find anyone willing to help."

Victor's heart sank as the reality of their predicament set in. "What are we going to do, Mom? We can't let them kick us out."
