CHAPTER SEVENTY THREE

Victor began with a chuckle upon sighting the pathetic state of his former landlord.

"Come on Victor, what is going on, why am I bundled like a captive?" He was scared and that was very evident.

"You want to know why you are bundled like this?" He paused while looking straight at Mr Thompson's eyes. He walked round him and his gait was slow and relaxed.

"Let's just say I couldn't get over the acute embarassment you showered on me and my mother just because we were not able to pay your rent on time."

"Come on Victor, you know how people are nowadays, if you are not tough with them, they would take you for granted. Please I didn't mean no harm." He pleaded.

"Oh what a speech. Okay tell me, how many times has my mother failed to comply with you by paying our rent? How many times have we disrespected you or taken you for granted? If I could remember vividly you issued threats to evict us forcefully out of your house, you even threatened to slap me for trying to reason with you."
