Aya, Anna, and Jeff sat in the waiting room. Jeff felt responsible for what had happened to Liya, so he insisted he come along. Much to his chagrin, Aya was more than happy to agree. “Can we see her Dr. Stephan?”Stephan shook his head, “She said she didn’t want visitors right now. So maybe you should all go home. Damon didn't return to see Liya then. He’d walked by and heard her friends in with her and decided against making an appearance in front of the crowd. He couldn’t risk the attention he would draw. He must be able to control himself instead of acting like a zestful schoolboy. Liya hadn’t the chance to continue her conversation with the Doctor after he’d left. She wanted to find out more about Damon. She was thankful that they gave her a room for the night all to herself. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Damon knew her. She really wasn’t sure, but it made her feel better. Although she was restless, she became tired of staring at the sterile white walls and drifted off to sleep. Liya’s dreams consisted of the dark stranger called Damon. She dreamt she was walking to class during the day and that he watched her among a crowd of students, unmoving, with his violet stare on her. The next day Liya got home early from the hospital after receiving a clean bill of health from her Doctor. She had strict instructions from him not to run for at least two weeks. She was too elated at the new diagnosis to be upset about even a two week delay, for it was better than the six months. Although she thought she slept well, she was exhausted. She hardly listened to Aya who was bragging about the ride home the night before when Jeff sat beside her in her car. It was greatly exaggerated of course.
