Chapter 105

“Let’s go!” Clara shouted, urgency lacing her voice. The moment of victory was fleeting, and Dexter could hear more Syndicate members moving toward them from the back of the warehouse.

“Right!” Dexter replied, shaking off the lingering pain and adrenaline. He glanced back to see the armored figure stirring but knew they couldn’t linger. “We need to make it to the exit now!”

As they rushed through the door, the outside air hit them, refreshing but filled with the distant sounds of chaos still echoing inside. They were met with the cool night, stars twinkling above, but there was no time to catch their breath. Dexter could see more Syndicate reinforcements approaching from the street, their faces filled with rage.

“Split up!” Clara shouted. “We need to confuse them!”

“Good idea!” Henry agreed, and without waiting for a second longer, they broke into different directions. Dexter took off down an alley, the sounds of pursuit fading as he maneuvered through the dimly lit streets.
