~You’re not considering this, are you?~Dorian stared at the rickety old cab and found himself fixated by the color and the paint on it. It wasn’t good at all.The paint was peeling off. Like actually peeling off the same way a damp wall would bloat up and then the paint would slowly begin to fall. That was the same thing happening to this car. The morning air seemed to lend Dorian a clear mind and the warm sun on his neck made him optimistic.“How much do you wanna sell it for?”The older man standing beside him scoffed “Sell it? who said I was going to sell it?’Dorian stared at the half-busted car and grimaced. “What are you planning to do with it then? Not sell it? Is this thing safe to go on the road?”“Do you want the job or not, kid?”There was some bite to the man’s voice now and Dorian could tell he was getting annoyed, but did he really have a reason to be annoyed? This car looked like something that would fall apart in a moment and for him to take it on the road as a cab….

The cab man did touch up the car a little.“It’s all I could do, okay? I’m not exactly heavy on cash or funds at the moment, and repairs cost a lot..”Dorian directed mildly sleepy and still bleary eyes to the man and he nodded.“It’s the best you could do, I understand.”The other man’s expression seemed to relax a bit after that and he and Dorian conversed freely from there on. He asked. “Are you sure you’ll be able to get 250 dollars daily? That could be difficult, don’t you think?”Dorian couldn’t help the light sneer that lined his lips as he looked away from his new employer. Why was everyone suddenly developing a conscience? First, it was the system and now it was this man.Doerian shrugged and stuck the key into the keyhole of the driver’s door.“I’ll be fine. 250$ a day shouldn’t be a problem.”The system chortled and Dorian found himself frowning lightly as he opened the door and got in. Dorian groaned and threw his pillow at the door.“Urgh what the hell! Why’s everyone making so much noise!”He opened his eyes and directed a glare at the door. What the hell? The noise wasn’t even coming from the door but he just wanted to throw something at something. The infernal squealing was coming from his window and the sound of excited chatter was almost too much for him to bear.Dorian got up from his bed and stomped to the door. He flung it open, yanked a shirt off the overhead hangers he kept, and stomped down the dirty hall and rickety stairs to see what had gotten all his neighbors into a stir. They barely gathered, and never so much that they’d make a hell of a noise that would wake him up this early in the morning.~Dorian?~Dorian grumbled a reply to the system ~Not now.~ and continued with his annoyed stomping.The moment he burst out of the main entrance the sun hit him full on, and it didn’t hit just him, it hit the gleaming new car everyone was currently crooning

“Wha…. how… how could that wretch own a car like that!” Dorian simply leaned on the door of his car and watched his landlord throw his tantrum. He didn’t know how the car was his, but he’d be damned if he stopped his landlord from making a fool of himself. The man caught sight of Dorian’s light sneering and he pointed accusingly, in the most dramatic manner. “Ah hah! I knew it. You’ve been selling your body haven’t you!” Everyone gasped and directed looks of scorn at Dorian but a firm female voice rang out immediately at that moment. “Enough!” All the people present darted their eyes toward the source of the voice and seeing it was Mae, the looks on their faces quickly turned neutral. Who wouldn’t wipe off the displeased look on their faces when Mae was glaring at them? Dorian watched as the female walked over to him. There was something strange about Mae because here she was, pretty as sin and in a sheer nightgown and yet unbothered and able to command the attention and respect
