Chapter 15: "How pathetic."

The cab man did touch up the car a little.

“It’s all I could do, okay? I’m not exactly heavy on cash or funds at the moment, and repairs cost a lot..”

Dorian directed mildly sleepy and still bleary eyes to the man and he nodded.

“It’s the best you could do, I understand.”

The other man’s expression seemed to relax a bit after that and he and Dorian conversed freely from there on. He asked.

“Are you sure you’ll be able to get 250 dollars daily? That could be difficult, don’t you think?”

Dorian couldn’t help the light sneer that lined his lips as he looked away from his new employer. Why was everyone suddenly developing a conscience? First, it was the system and now it was this man.

Doerian shrugged and stuck the key into the keyhole of the driver’s door.

“I’ll be fine. 250$ a day shouldn’t be a problem.”

The system chortled and Dorian found himself frowning lightly as he opened the door and got in. The system’s cheeky voice rang out in his head.

~Carry on. I’m not interfering.~
