Chapter 14: "You're what?"

~You’re not considering this, are you?~

Dorian stared at the rickety old cab and found himself fixated by the color and the paint on it. It wasn’t good at all.

The paint was peeling off. Like actually peeling off the same way a damp wall would bloat up and then the paint would slowly begin to fall. That was the same thing happening to this car. The morning air seemed to lend Dorian a clear mind and the warm sun on his neck made him optimistic.

“How much do you wanna sell it for?”

The older man standing beside him scoffed “Sell it? who said I was going to sell it?’

Dorian stared at the half-busted car and grimaced.

“What are you planning to do with it then? Not sell it? Is this thing safe to go on the road?”

“Do you want the job or not, kid?”

There was some bite to the man’s voice now and Dorian could tell he was getting annoyed, but did he really have a reason to be annoyed? This car looked like something that would fall apart in a moment and for him to take it on the road as a cab….
