Chapter 25: ~Consistency.~

The next day, Dorian woke up early and caught a bus to the stock broker's office. They finally had a formal introduction in which the man introduced himself as Mr. Horace Walt, “But you can call me Walt, or Horace, whichever one is fine by you.”

Dorian nodded and tried to keep his shoulders from shaking too much as different emotions coursed through him.

Someone had searched his apartment while he was gone last night.

Dorian felt the image of his room flash past in his mind again and he took a deep breath, because last night he got back home to meet his place trashed. His clothes were on the floor, his books were scattered all around, everything he had was in complete disarray, and someone had taken the money he was keeping so he could take it to the bank when he had the time.

Horace Walt the stockbroker spoke at length about how they operated in the firm he worked in but all the while Dorian felt like the stockbroker's voice was just background noise.
