Reyansh swallowed his anxieties, pushing them down deep. "Alright, that's enough for now," he said, his voice tight. "You got into college, Saarayu. I don't want to cause you any more trouble. I have to find out who's behind this."

Saarayu stared at him, her heart a tangled mess. "But..." she began, the words catching in her throat. How could she leave him facing this alone?

A fresh wave of tears welled up in Avi's eyes. Saarayu scooped her up instinctively, whispering soothing words. "If you don't mind," she said, her voice trembling, "can I take Avi with me? She's just a baby. It wouldn't be good for her to be alone."

Reyansh flinched. "The nanny is here to look after her," he said curtly, a muscle jumping in his jaw.

Saarayu's voice hitched. "Seriously, Reyansh? After we just found out someone's trying to kill you and potentially harm Avi too?"

He couldn't meet her gaze. Shame burned in his chest.
