"Whoa, the heck. Why the hell did I become a Bronze-rank Awakened... I expected something bigger from the system," Keith said with disappointment. Even though the system had promised to rank up his talent if he obtained a huge amount of Core Fragments, Keith wasn't satisfied.
Truth be told, he doesn't want stress. Of course, he knew how hard it was for the Supreme Warlord and the Lords to rank up their talent.
However, despite the anger of being a Bronze-rank Awakened, Keith was satisfied to have acquired a Thunder Manipulation talent. This talent was unique on the Blue Planet since the existence of talents, and Keith could believe that no one in the world had the same talent as his.
Plus, he was happy to get additional years to his lifespan. Though it was not a special thing, Bronze-rank Awakeneds' lifespans are not less than two hundred years.
After the assumptions and pondering, Kieth picked his longsword and made his way out of the forest. It took about three kilometers to evacuate the forest, and Keith was utterly exhausted. But still, he endured the fatigue and continued his walk home.
The route leading to his clan was through the Sacred Temple of Eastern continent. The Temple has always been boisterous and lively with the sounds of enchantment utterances and songs. However, today only seemed to be different.
Everywhere was deserted.
The whole city looked stranded as though the Specters had attacked, but Keith's view proved him wrong when he noticed that the atmosphere was normal and unharmed.
The Specters are undead creatures capable of destroying a whole planet without stress. They are known as the most deadly race that ever existed because of their horrific and devastating features. Only their presence alone could mutate the atmosphere, transforming everywhere into a dark and rough area.
They are the strongest dark magicians unlike the Dark Orcs, and would always live with no hope of perishing one day. They are Immortal, but, only the wisest of Awakeneds could slay them by their weak point. When they die, their soul can be absorbed by an Awakened, and the Awakened's skill would upgrade instantly.
However, the same thing applied to an Awakened. If they are killed by a Specter, their core can be absorbed, enabling the Specter to become stronger.
The brutal deeds of the Specters would always bring more fear to the humans, and the humans only depended on the Supreme Warlord for safety. Now that he was no more, that fear had suddenly reappeared in their minds. And this time, it was more significant because of the Origin Gemstone that the Specters had been so desperate to acquire.
Literally, the Specters were surely going to come for it... Now that their greatest foe was dead.
A huge amount of Bronze-rank Awakeneds could be seen on every side of the city. To ensure safety at this moment, the Lords ordered the lowest-ranked Awakeneds to guard the main cities. The Silver and Gold-rank Awakeneds would guard the walls as usual.
Not wanting to make the fear of an upcoming war rule over him, Keith extracted his attention from the deserted aura of the city and continued his journey home. Most Awakeneds looked at him with suspicion and distaste as he walked by, but Keith only ignored and progressed forward.
'You fools would think that I ended up as Commoner just like every member of my clan, but it would end up as a surprise when you see me on the battlefield soon. After killing the Specters, I'll make sure that no one of you will make it back into the walls. You darned and cursed idiots.'
Keith thought with anger.
Soon, he arrived at the Rotunda Clan's fort and went through the wooden gate. Surprisingly, the gates weren't locked as he had advised.
"Did she suddenly got courageous? Why is the gate open?" Keith questioned himself and made his way into the aged fort.
The fort wasn't as large as other forts were. This was because of their poor status in Eastern Territory.
The fort has three buildings in it, each belonging to every son of the Rotunda lineage. Keith's father was the youngest of all the Rotunda sons, but he was the only one with a modern-styled wooden house. The others couldn't afford enough for it, so someone like Sage lives in a thatched house.
Before entering his home, Keith decided to check on Sage. He went into her room to see her lying flat as though she was on the verge of passing out. She was shivering.
Keith's eyes widened in shock, he quickly approached her and placed his palms on her neck. She was hot, and even horny. Keith was spooked.
"What is wrong Sage... Your temperature is high and you look..." Keith paused, not wanting to let out the last word. "What happened?"
"I'm just having a slight fever, that's all," Sage said and covered her chest region with the blanket.
"Whoa, fever turns you on right?" Keith said, "I see."
"What the hell do you mean! I'm feeling sick and you are telling me that uh?!" Sage bellowed.
"Tsk. It's obvious, fever turns you on... I thought you had an Awakened boyfriend. Did you guys break up or something?" Keith asked with a teasing smile.
"Shut the hell up Keith... I never said that."
Sage frowned.
"Then go to him, he can help out with the slight fever," Keith teased again.
After saying those words, before Sage could reply, they heard a sound from the gate. And footsteps followed.
Keith walked to the window at the left side of Sage's room to check out the people with the approaching footsteps. Just as he did, his eyes widened after a comforting smile.
Noticing the sudden act from Keith, Sage who was still lying on her old mattress asked:
"Who's that?"
Keith turned to look at her and grinned.
"They are home!"
Sage quickly stood up from the ragged mattress and approached Keith by the window. Staring into the distance, she saw twelve figures approaching the buildings. It was the rest of the family. Keith and Sage smiled. "After staying home alone for three months, my family is finally back," Sage said in delight. Keith looked at her. He frowned slightly and said: "After staying home alone for two years, my family came to visit."Sage glanced at Keith, a look of pity suddenly appeared on her face as she stared at him. Keith had lived alone in the fort for two years since his immediate senior brother, Greg left the fort to work in the ranches. Max left six years ago and his father was a head servant to a Gold-rank Awakened even before he was born. Though being a Commoner never deprived an individual from getting married or doing things that benefits them... They only have to serve the Blue Planet anytime they are called. Keith couldn't recall when last he set his eyes on his father, bu
Everyone standing at that spot stood motionless as Sage said those words. However, the only person who seemed not to be surprised was Keith's father. Instead of producing an outrageous and disappointed grimace, Ryder smiled and placed his right hand upon Keith's left shoulder. "You don't have to be down on yourself boy... Instead, blame the heavens for cursing our innocent soul," Keith's father said with a comforting smile and turned to Max. "We aren't to be blamed for the misery we are facing, instead, we should be proud of ourselves for not staying down after a fall."All eyes were fixed on Ryder as he spoke wholeheartedly, though sad. "Being a Commoner is never and would not be a death sentence. We would work with our might and serve the Blue Planet with all we got, even if it wasn't recognized," Ryder returned his gaze to Keith, "so Keith, don't look down on yourself. Instead, use that diligent influence of yours to serve the human race."Keith hesitated a bit and nodded."Keith,
The system ignored Keith's questions and dimmed off. Keith's eyes widened in surprise. "This jerk... How come you know about women?"Keith was astonished at that moment. However, he knew that servants could be useful for sexual activities, but the truth was that Keith hated those things. Really. He caressed his forehead to calm his brain from popping out, placing the other hand on his waist. After standing for a while, he turned and joined his relatives at the general dining. Just as he walked in, his father slammed in a new topic to discuss. No, it wasn't new, it was the Supreme Warlord's death issue. Truth be told, Keith wanted this kind of conversation. "Now as I speak, the Lords are looking for a new Head Warlord. But it seems that no one could match his power, not even a half," Ryder notified. "Of course, no one will. No one can match the power of a Demigod," Max said. "Demigod?""Demigod?""What do you mean Max?" Ryder questioned. "It's obvious that he was a Demigod. De
"Gosh! This system is crazy," Keith's complained.Somehow, Keith's happiness suddenly died off. The Immortal Mage System had ordered him to complete his current mission within two days, however, that only wiped out the giggles off his cheeks. Of course, killing ten Tier-0 monsters wasn't much of a deadly thing to do, but, the other mission was what quenched his urge to complete the mission.Keith was not in the power to order a servant of his choice... It was the duty of the territory's posting officials. So, if it turns out that his servant would be a boy or an old woman... Uh! That would be total shit.Though Keith didn't pray for such. With a sad mood and a confused countenance, Keith lay on his mattress. Before Keith could know it, Jake was already creating two fireballs from his palms. The others watched with confidence, believing that Jake was going to beat Keith to stupor. However, Keith only studied his moves and tried to create his own skills. String of thunder! There was no doubt that fireballs are 1-star skill so Keith was relieved because his current skill was the same as that of Jake. Though he didn't guarantee his win, he knew that he had an equal chance of winning just like Jake. Jake charged towards Keith with the whooshing fireballs on his palms. His speed was utterly incredible, though, it never stopped Keith from dodging the attack. Just as Keith dodged, he scowled and blinked his eyes. ——————————[Do you want to activate your skill: String of thunder?]. ——————————"Yes," Keith requested. ——————————[String of thunder activated]. ——————————Suddenly, lightning with a blue hue, like the structure of a tiny string, emerged from Keith's palm. Keith ignored the words of the system, however, he displayed his happiness in attaining his first Core Fragment inside of him. Yet, at the other phase of his mind were waves of shock and disappointment. The curious look on Sage's face gave him a clear concept that she had noticed something. After all, the path through this spot was straight and she could possibly see the fighting scene from afar. Keith was dazed. "He is an Awakened! He can create thunder!" Jake shouted with fear and ran away, leaving his friends behind. Keith attempted to chase after him, but Sage's stunning words made him halt his movement. "Why do you lie to me? You are able to awaken your talent but you kept it a secret, why?" Keith faced the other direction which Jake had taken, shocked and dumbfounded. He wanted this to be a secret until the Postings, but now that it had been licked, he wouldn't be able to cover it up. After all, he caused it. 'I should have fought a normal fight.'Keith hesitated'But he
"Well, I talk too much... I don't think I can adapt," Keith remarked and smiled. The Immortal Mage System was quite nosy in its own way and Keith could attest to it. At a point, he wondered if this was what the Supreme Warlord had encountered. But actually, he knew that the Supreme Warlord would have experienced even more. Literally, he already knew that there were more experiences to come. Keith blinked his eyes the moment he approached the entrance of the Menace Forest. Swiftly, the system obeyed.——————————[Do you want to activate weapon: Longsword?].——————————"Hell yes," Keith replied. ——————————[Lv1 Longsword activated?]. ——————————The longsword appeared on Keith's hand suddenly, making Keith smile in relief. Keith thought of turning back and running for his precious life, but he knew that that wasn't the right action to take at the moment. He knew that he wouldn't make many steps before being caught by the Critter. As Keith stared at the monster, his eyes widened in fear as it made more steps forward. Right now, the Critter was totally delighted to have found breakfast. The Critter has three heads attached with each having two eyes. One faced Keith directly, the other to the left, and the third facing the right side. Its long fangs and curvy sharp claws were enough to reveal that Keith was on a thin line between life and death. It possessed a dark wood-like body, short hands, and shanks of about a foot tall.
