Ch 2: Invitation To Dinner By The King

Hah! finally I have regained back the qi I used to summon the seal. Well, there's nothing for me to worry about even if my all qi is depleted, I have my divine sword "Starshatter" which doesn't require any qi.

Tap...

"Are you sir Lei?" 

A figure from behind approaches Lei and taps on his shoulder as he was meditating.

The man tapped Lei without him noticing it. This clearly shows how decisive the man was!

Someone just touched me even though I was on guard. How can this be possible? Is he somehow stronger than me? Let me test it.

Swish... 

Lei disappears from the man's sight, then in a blink appears in front of him and throws a punch towards him.

 

Wham!

The punch creates a shockwave that uproots half of the trees in the forest but the man remains unscathed.

"Woah! Woah! calm down, Sir Lei. I don't have any ill motive for you. I am here to escort you to the Vreovia Kingdom. Our King has invited you for dinner."

"Oh I see! so you have come as a replacement of Nithral. But I have to say you are quite courageous taking my blows head own."

"Oh, you flatter me. I am just a nobody. It was just me testing you. Whether you are a genuine sage or a con artist. By the way, allow me to introduce myself I am Elliot. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too."

Those amber eyes, shiny black hairs, that attire a normal noble can't wear. And that power no guard can have that much strength. Unless he is the King himself. His etiquette and demeanour are that of a king no matter how I see.

"Why don't you reveal your real identity Mister Elliot."

Elliot smirks and then waves his long hair weirdly and says" Aha! so you found out about my identity. I guess I can't hide it from Sir Lei. I am the bravest and the most beautiful girl of the world's father and.... also King of Vreovia Kingdom."

"You daughter complex father just keep your mouth shut. Nithral take father back to the kingdom."

Aria shouts from afar when she sees his father acting like a weird person.

"Wait no don't take me now, I just started telling mister Lei about my dear Aria. I have to tell about her beauty to the world...."

Huff....huff....huff

Aria comes running towards Lei and after catching her breath again she speaks"I am sorry mister Lei for what father did to you. He suddenly went out of the castle saying that he wants to see you and fight you. But thank God you are okay."

"Oh so you were worried about me but why? We are just strangers? Did you develop some kind of feeling towards me with just our first meeting?"

Hearing this Aria blushes and turns her face to another side, twirls her hair and tries to hide her emotions. But seeing Lei remain unfazed she comes back to her self.

"N....no I...I just see you as a great person worthy of respect. But even though you look young you are thousand years old. How can I feel like that about you? And I think you can't get a girl now can you?"

Since Lei teased her she also takes revenge by reminding him of his age and that throughout his whole life he has remained alone with no one to talk to. Except for his sword spirit with whom he kept on talking and some people in Tianwu Continent due to which some people thought that he was feeling lonely and persuded him to marry someone.

Her words injured Lei's heart so badly that he suddenly became gloomy and quiet. This scene made Aria laugh aloud and then she said" Now you look more like a normal human. It's so refreshing to see you like this." 

Hahaha!

Lei realised what he has lost in his life and that's what made him laugh.

Till now I was just looking for an excuse to escape from reality. The cultivation path is crueller than one can think. I saw bloodshed, betrayal, crimes, corruption and every worst possibility. I was even at the death's door one time but I never gave up. I had to reach the topmost position to stop it but I knew the reality that it can't be stopped. So I separated myself from the whole world and attain true immortality and leave the world. But coming here I found what is there left for me to know.

"Umm, mister Lei you look lost. What are you thinking so deeply about?"

"Nothing....it's just nothing. I am just thinking that if you all call me 'Sir' or 'Mister' then everyone will start being suspicious of me so just call me normally. And I can't speak like an old man.....although I am one. So I will speak normally. Please teach me the way people talk here."

"If that's what you wish then ok but I just feel a little shy cause you.... nevermind let's go. I will escort you back."

Lei follows Aria and people start gossiping about them.

"Hehe! looks like a princess has fallen for him."

"Hehe! totally"

"When are girls going to fall for me? Damm good looking guys. I hate them to the core."

"Hahaha! just give up that dream of yours."

The way to the kingdom from the forest should have been quiet and boring but it became quite lively due to the chatterings of everyone. For Lei, it was a great experience because he almost forgot what laughing felt like.

On reaching the entrance to the forest. A carriage came to escort Lei and Aria to the castle. On arriving in the kingdom he saw the prosperity of all the towns and cities. There was no sign of crimes and poverty in the kingdom. This made him curious and asked Aria a question.

"Is sir Elliot very influential and powerful? Why is there no sign of poverty or crimes in this kingdom?"

"Yes father was a former SS ranked adventurer who saved the world twice, then on his journey he met a mother and since then he retired and became a king. No one dares to disobey father so almost all crimes have ceased."

Oh, I see so that's why he was able to take my blow? No wonder he didn't even have a scratch.

"What about your mother? Was she also an adventurer?"

"Yes, she was also SS ranked adventurer. She was tired of fighting and thought she would get old without a partner so she married father."

I wonder how much strength do SS rank adventurers possess. I have to fight them to know. I wonder if I'll have to use my advanced techniques. 

"Lei, you are not thinking of fighting them right?"

"Hahahaha! no way I am not a kid who would get excited to fight to try out his powers at others and defeat them. Haha, no way I am going to do such a bad thing."

Does this girl has some kind of mind-reading technique? Well, I am excited to see what will I get to eat today.

"We have reached the palace. Sir Lei you first."

So this is Aria's home. Quite beautiful. In Tainyu Continent, I have seen bigger palaces but this has its uniqueness. 

The palace was made of shiny black stone and parts of silver and gold.  The roof had a gargoyle and two statues of dragons were in the entrance. The whole palace seemed magical. On entering there King Elliot was standing with his wife Rain.

Both were looking lovely together. 

Queen Rain Dawnless was like the definition of beauty and King Elliot was looking like a great noble person. But when they heard Aria will be going with Lei for adventures they began acting like thugs.

"Heya punk I am telling you if you can't keep my daughter safe then I will teach you a great lesson."

"Mister Lei you should understand the beauty of Aria and spread it to the whole world. You will....do....it right?"

What just now they were acting so noble but now they are acting like thugs. What should I do? Should I challenge them. I am excited to see how much powerful they are. No that would hurt Aria.

"Ummm mommy and daddy" she starts speaking cutely.

"If you want to stop me then you have to defeat Mr Lei. In this way, you can test him. Right?"

"Oh, such an easy task I will finish it very fast."

"Ok honey you go first, I have faith in you since you were called "Flame Queen"."

"Stop it Elliot that name is so embarrassing."

"Now Mr Lei let's move to the training grounds."

"Sure"

In the blink of an eye, everyone was teleported to training grounds.

"Then I shall go first."

" Burn my enemies to crisp [Infernno]!"

A whirlwind of fire traps Lei makes it difficult for him to move and see anything. 

"Interesting technique but I am not going to lose so easily."

"[Reverse Wind Palm Technique]"

Lei reverses the flow of wind and fire and disperse the fire. Then releases his qi attack in form of a shockwave. Oueen Rain tries to block it by forming fire shield but the shockwave hits her and pushes her away.

"Now my turn [Earth Breaking Fist]!"

Lei punches the ground and a big crack and tremors appear on the ground which causes unbalance for Queen Rain and she falls to the ground. 

"Guess now it's finally my turn."

"O spirits grant me the power to split the heavens in two [Heveanly Slash]."

The slash produces a violent energy ray as big as a giant and moves towards Lei in light speed.

"[ Thousand Palms of Deva]"

"Behold mortals for I am "Immortal God Emperor" the supreme being of the world. Bow down to me! Hahahaha!

Lei summons thousands of hands which made him look like a diety. The two powers clash so violently that the whole training ground gets destroyed and both Lei and King Elliot get pushed back. Elliot gets some minor injuries but Lei remains untouched however his clothes get torn.

"You amaze me mister Lei but what were you saying during battle? I wasn't able to hear clearly" Elliot ask with curiosity.

"Oh, it was nothing....nothing at all." I almost blurted out the truth.

"Oh, Mr Lei sorry we are just overprotective about our daughter. We don't hate you let's have dinner since you might be hungry."

Queen Rain ask for forgiveness from Lei.

"Haha, I don't mind it, your highness."

After everything was completed they had a grand dinner and then everyone started enjoying the party. Since Lei didn't want to grab attention he went somewhere else with Aria and Nithral.
