Chapter 4 Manifestation Of Powers

The Dragon party got to the boy's house. They saw a dilapidated and old building which was looking strained. The outside was overgrown with weeds and thorns. The house was loosing it's paint. The inside was no better as cobwebs filled the house.

The party were shocked at the structure of the building.

They were led to a room where a woman is laid on a bed and shivering despite having thick wrappers on her.

Tsuoma's appraisal eyes opened and he saw the woman had a curse on her. A high level curse which had merged with her and was draining her life force.

His eyes scanned around. “Damn, a demon is the cause of this, he is still here.“ Tsuoma looked around and saw a giant spider bigger than a tarantula lurking above Natael. “Natael, above you, a giant Drake Gustof.“ His eyes had shown him the specie of the spider which wasn't on Earth. He knew the spider was dangerous as all of the members of the party brought out very dangerous weapons, even Miles was on an edge. Tsuoma wondered what made the spider so fearful, he checked with the appraisal eyes and what he saw was mind blowing.

Tsuoma held his head. “Just like a game uh, who else can use it.“ “well no one else in this world can use it, it's your very own power like Teruki's empathy. So use it wisely.“

Tsuoma looked around checking the stats of everyone and was shocked to discover none of them reached fifty, the strongest of them Miles was at 45. “Goddess we are doomed, even Teruki doesn't stand a chance.“

“Says who, why don't you check her stats again.“

He did and was shocked to see her stats increasing drastically. He saw an ability which could help them out.

Immunity to curses. That was a convenient ability and he formulated a plan taking into account, everyone's stats. He was ready. “Natael, cast a sealing spell, it should limit its powers, Sasha I need pegs to stick it to the floor, Miles cast your gravity magic on it, Teruki use Holy Lance, that should destroy it.“

They all looked at him in shock, one question evident on their faces.

“How did you know our powers.“ He saw their faces and saw the questions on their faces. “No time to answer now, just do it.“ They did as they were told and the Drake Gustof roared trying to free itself.

He checked the stats of the Drake Gustof once again.

He projected his thoughts and centred it on his stats and a blank screen which only he could see appeared. “Activate stat panel.“ Suddenly words began floating on the panel and he saw his stats.

Light Dragon Attack. Minus 3 stamina and Mana Consumption. 50 Mana.

Light Piercer. Minus 1 stamina and Mana Consumption. 50 Mana.

“Well, it drains my mana fast but resting will gain it back, I will go with the first skill.

The demon spider had broken a rod and Miles was struggling to hold it down with gravity. Tsuoma was surrounded by light energy. “Guys, move away.“ They were shocked to see this and jumped back near him. “I have to curtail the damage to only here, I hope I can. Light Magic, Light Purge.“

A massive beam of light struck the Drake Gustof enveloping it as it yelled. The Drake Gustof's body began to pulsate as it kept on expanding and expanding.

“Oh gods and goddesses, it's going to explode.“

Tsuoma raised his hand and thought of a defence spell, he carefully constructed the magic circle and once it was completed added it to his skills,it was currently at level 10, it only consumed 20 mana but it was worth it.

“Light Magic. Solid light shield.“ He chanted covering all of them as the Drake Gustof exploded taking half the building with it, massive wind threatened to tear them apart but the shield held on until the blast stopped.

“My, and here I struggled to curtail the blast, he said and fell down breathing heavily. He checked his stats.

After a few minutes of rest, Tsuoma woke and saw the building had already been restored by Natael. He checked Natael's stats.

Natael walked to the woman and touched her head and she went back to normal. Her cracked skin began to gain fat, color returned to her cheeks, her red hair which looked like they had been forcefully forced out of her head began to gather back and after the restoration, now standing before them was a very beautiful woman who could send tongues wagging by just a look. The boy jumped on the woman. “I may not have healing magic but at least she is back to normal now.“ Natael said chuckling as he wiped the sweat on his forehead.

Tsuoma chuckled at his new found friend.

After sipping cups of cold tea, the Dragon Party rallied around the woman and she told them her story. She was gathering some wood for the furnace when something big which looked like a spider but with demon head and human limbs, eighth like a spider jumped in front of her, she was scared out of her mind and the Drake Gustof opened it's mouth and spat a cursed spittle on her which began draining her life force, she didn't like it when her son began stealing inorder for them to survive but she had no choice in the matter as she was slowly rotting away. Tsuoma was awed and checked her stats.

She handed it to her. “In there is five hundred dnars, that should last you for a while.“ Natael said.

Rietta looked at Natael, her eyes glittering as she accepted the money with tears in her eyes.

Shamash began moving uncomfortably and Tsuoma went to him and touched his head. “Wanna join my party kid, i want to get established in the guild first after that I will create my party but you can be the third member, you know.“

Shamash began to weep uncontrollably, he remembered stealing from them and yet they showed him much good. Though the offer was tempting, he couldn't leave his mother alone and he explained that to them. Tsuoma smiled and patted his head. “It's ok, as long as you visit the guild and ask for Natael it will be okay.

Rietta asked them to wait for a bit before leaving and she went inside a room, by the time she returned,she handed all of them a green potion in a plastic vial.

“I might be only human, but I know how to make potions, that is a mana and health potion, it would restore your mana and health when you drink it. The party accepted it and went out of the house.
