Camella Funeral

Karen lay in the sterile white hospital bed, her skin pale and fragile against the sheets. Every day, Sophia and Nicholas took turns at her side attending to her.They helped her eat, coaxing her to take in the nourishing soups and teas they brought, gently wiping her mouth when she grew too weak to manage on her own.

"You're doing great, Karen," Sophia would say, her voice filled with warmth and encouragement.

Nicholas would adjust her pillows, hold her hand, and speak to her in smooth, soft tones. "We’re here for you, Karen. You’re not alone."

“I'm sorry for your loss- Camella.” Karen spoke with her face full of remorse.

“It's okay dear, you also, you lost your baby.” He kissed her.

“Our baby.” Karen corrected and they both burst into laughter.

One afternoon, the hospital room was filled with the low murmur of a news report. The television displays a newscaster.

"In a surprising turn of events, Kim Orme has been arrested," the news anchor reported, his voice steady and professional.
