"Rooms and suites were all booked out, was that a joke?" Oliver was surprised. There were more than 200 rooms and suites in Empire because it had lot of visitors so he was sure the lady was lying to him.

The only reason could be that she was looking down on him.

“Miss how can you sa…

“Hello I want to book a suite;” A voice rang through before Oliver could complete his sentence.

A middle-aged man who was neatly dressed in suit walked forward. Looking at him, one could tell that he was rich.

“Sure sir, its…”

The lady talked to the man gently until he was done with the booking.

Oliver who was watching everything was stunned, firstly lady told him all the suites and rooms has been occupied but the middle-aged man was able to get a suite.

“I thought you said all the suites and rooms are occupied so how come someone successfully made a booking?” Oliver questioned angrily.

Hearing his question, the lady frowned and said. “There are suites and rooms available but am afraid you can’t afford them even if you bring all your life saving.

Oliver was shocked, the poor were always disrespected whiles everything was always in the favour of the rich.

“Who says I can’t afford to book a suite? Well I don’t just want to book a suite but the presidential one.” Oliver stated.

Oliver’s words not only enraged the lady but also got other people who had gathered around laughing.

“This guy must be crazy; he’s wearing poor cloths but bragging about wanting to book a presidential suite.”

Oliver did not care about their words; he indeed had the money so he could book or even buy the whole hotel if he wanted.

“I want to speak to your boss now” He said in a calm tone.

“You want to see my boss? Am sorry you’re not qualified, my boss is going to puke seeing you.”

I’m sure you sneak in your way through here, don’t worry I’ll call the security guards to beat and send you out.” The lady picked the phone to make a call.

“What’s going on here? A soft but loud voice pierced through the air. It was no other than the lady Oliver met outside few minutes ago, Ynes Larking.

She had left something when leaving the hotel so she returned to pick it up but heard some arguments going on.

Seeing Ynes, the lady in charge of the bookings stood up, she was respectful.

“Madam Ynes, this gentleman sneaked in here and started making troubles. I asked him to leave but he wouldn’t listen!” the lady said pointing to Oliver whose back was facing Ynes at that moment.

“Sneak?” Ynes expression changed, how could someone sneak in? That was a shameless attitude.

“Sir, you should know that this place is a place where people visit, you can’t come in here and cause troubles,” she said.

Oliver whose back was facing Ynes turned and asked, “Miss Ynes are you the owner here?”

Ynes was shocked to see Oliver, the guy who got into a heated argument with her bodyguard a few minutes ago. "Yes, I’m the owner here," Ynes replied shortly. The Empire Hotel was one of the properties of the Larking family, and Ynes was the one in charge. "I came here to book a suite, but your staff wouldn’t allow me; why is it so?" Oliver asked with a stern expression. Oliver then explained everything that had happened to Ynes. Ynes was furious; she never looked down on people and didn’t expect her staff to do so. She took a yellow card from her bag and handed it to Oliver. "I’m really sorry for my staff’s behavior; this is our membership card." "You can stay here whenever you want without paying." Oliver wanted to reject the membership card; he had enough money to pay for all his lodgings, but after giving it a second thought, he decided not to embarrass her. He was taken aback when

"How about we all donate an amount to Logan and Nora to show our appreciation?" "The amount shouldn't be less than 10,000 bucks Jace said."The rest nodded and said, "Yes, this is the best way to thank Nora and Logan for the love they've shown to us."In reality, Jace actually brought up this idea just to intimidate Oliver. Since he said he wasn't working, it meant he would not be able to afford that amount.Even though they themselves weren't as rich as Logan or Nora, 10,000 bucks wasn't anything big in their eyes.Oliver, who had seen through Jace's plan, smirked lightly but said nothing."No, this isn't needed; this is just from my heart; how can I take money from you people?" Logan said."Yes, Jace, you're all my good friends; there's no need to show any appreciation for our friendship." Moreover, we aren't short of cash, right?" The once formidable gang members were now scrambling, their coordinated efforts unraveling under the relentless assault from Vespera’s team.Vespera took a moment to steady her breathing, her eyes scanning the dimly lit interior for any signs of movement. Her twin pistols, still warm from the earlier exchanges, were firmly gripped in her hands. She glanced over to her lieutenant, Marcus, who was crouched behind a stack of crates, tending to a wound on his shoulder.“Marcus, status report,” Vespera commanded softly, her voice cutting through the lingering tension.Marcus glanced up, wincing as he pressed a makeshift bandage against his injury. “We’ve neutralized the majority of their front line. Vespera crouched behind a stack of crates, breathing heavily as she surveyed the confusion erupting around her. Across the open space, several of her men darted from cover to cover, exchanging bullets with the entrenched gang. The flickering overhead lights and the fading daylight outside cast strange shadows on everyone’s faces, making it hard to tell friend from foe at a glance.A sudden movement drew Vespera’s eye—a gang member peering out from behind a barrel. He was angling his rifle around, clearly targeting one of her flanking teammates. Vespera exhaled slowly to steady her aim. Boom!” With a single, crisp shot, she put a bullet through his chest. He staggered, eyes wide in disbelief, then collapsed to the concrete floor. His rifle clattered away from his limp fingers. No sooner had she taken that shot than chaos erupted on her left. Inside the warehouse, tension hung as thick as the cigarette smoke lingering in the air. The men, on edge from the failed phone call, sat in uneasy silence while their boss poured himself another stiff drink. Suddenly, one of the gang members—a tall, lanky fellow wearing a threadbare jacket—stood up, fidgeting with his belt buckle. “Boss,” he mumbled, trying not to meet the scarred man’s gaze, “I need to step out. Gotta—uh—ease myself.” The boss, halfway through knocking back his liquor, merely grunted. No one else spoke. They watched the lanky man slip past the makeshift barricade of crates and head for the side exit. The heavy metal door groaned in protest as he shouldered it open and stepped out. Outside, the wind carried the faint rustle of footsteps—just enough to prickle the senses. The lanky man squinted into the darkness, blinked, and felt his heart slam in his chest. Figures moved in the shadows—silent, intent, armed to the teeth. It didn’t take long for him to recognize

An hour later, Vespera and her men pulled off the main road and into a desolate stretch of industrial wasteland far from the heart of town. The drive had been tense but uneventful; now, their headlights illuminated cracked asphalt and abandoned warehouses, all standing silent under the pale glow of a few flickering streetlights. The pavement was riddled with weeds poking through the cracks, and torn chain-link fences ran along the perimeter, giving the area a forlorn, almost post-apocalyptic feel.As they brought their vehicles to a stop near a rusted sign that was barely legible, the hum of the engines cut out, plunging the surroundings into an eerie hush. In the distance, the faint outline of the gang’s base rose against the horizon—a hulking, squat structure of corrugated metal and boarded-up windows. It was set back from the main road, hidden amid tangles of overgrown brush and twisted piles of scrap. An occasional burst of light from a flickering floodlight revealed hints of move

What do we do with it?”Vespera smirked, a hint of dark amusement in her eyes. "We’ll handle that too. Have it rebranded, stripped of any identifiers. Once it’s ready, it’ll be delivered to the local orphanage as a donation. They could use a decent vehicle more than these fools ever could."The guard’s mouth curled into a knowing smile as he nodded.
