WHOOSH!
“…”
“…”
“…..!”
For a second, Eliot just floated in the water, stunned as he watched the silhouette of the gradually vanishing chief.
He gritted his teeth in anger. ‘That f*cker!’
‘That f*cker…, he’s always the first to run!’
Chief didn’t even look back to see who shouted the danger warning nor did he even care to see the danger, he simply bolted away.
And instantly, the fish school scattered in panic.
Despite their panic though, Eliot was able to notice something immediately as every single one of the Salmon Fish still tried to swim in chief’s direction.
That was all Eliot needed to heave a sigh of relief.
“Brother, follow them!”
“…” Brother was stunned.
One moment, he was swimming with big bro Eliot, calmly hunting for food and the next moment he saw a brother being killed, then the Giant Spider, then big bro Eliot shouting danger then all his brothers scattering and swimming in panic.
Everything was too much for this Salmon to process at once.
He froze from confusion but Eliot was not having it.
“Follow them!” He roared at him.
“Ah…!” Brother finally snapped awake.
And he didn’t even contemplate the words nor try to argue, having been saved by obeying big Bro Eliot countless times already.
This Salmon Fish bolted after the others in an instant.
And finally, Eliot turned to face the Giant Spider.
“…” He gulped.
He shook his head. ‘I can’t run now; those fools will die’.
‘I need to stall for time’.
“Hey bro”. He forced a Salmonish smile even as the crisis of this moment made ideas to rapidly flow through his head.
“Good morning”.
“How’s the family?”
“…” The Giant spider looked at him in a confused and bored manner.
“Yawn…,” The spider yawned as it finished the last bit of flesh on the Salmon Fish that he just preyed on, then he looked at this Salmon Fish.
“You insolent brat, how dare you scare my food away?”
“Since you have the guts, you’ll have to pay by becoming my food”.
“Hehe…,” Eliot chuckled awkwardly. “Can we talk this through?”
Thud!
The Giant Spider finally took a step from its little lair.
It looked at Eliot weirdly. “You’re weird, you’re not like the others”.
“This is the first time a Salmon is having the guts to talk to me”.
“Anyways, you’re still food”.
“Wait!”
BAM!
The Spider no longer paid attention to the words of his prey as kicking 2 of its 8 legs against the seabed, this Spider launched itself into the air with speed.
“Magic Gland: Wind- Needle Blade!”
As this Spider rushed through the water with immense speed, green energy oozed out of its body the next moment before converging on one of its legs.
This leg pointed at Eliot, turning into an extremely sharp green needle.
“…” Eliot froze.
He had no doubt that if he was hit by this, he would die immediately.
At that moment, time seemed to stop before Eliot.
All the ideas on his head flowed one last time.
‘The Bite skill? I have no chance of punching through that thick skin…’
‘The Dash skill? Damn, he’s faster than me…’
‘Devour? F*ck! That’s for eating…!’
‘Camouflage? It’s too late for that…!’
‘Mate? Yo! What the f*ck…!’
Eliot was out of options but he stayed back to protect his family this time for a reason. Left with no option, only one idea, the craziest of them all remained in his head as Eliot’s face became weird.
At that moment of life and death, a memory flashed before him.
Professor Gagam was working in his laboratory like usual as Eliot watched attentively, fascinated by the Professor’s genius.
Then he suddenly asked. “Professor, do fish fart?”
“…” Professor Gagam’s hand shook on hearing the question, spilling the green liquid in his hand as he turned to glare at Eliot.
In the end, he calmed down though as he contemplated the question.
‘Do fish fart?’
The Professor looked at his assistant. “Eliot, what made you ask that?”
“I just imagined it and I couldn’t help but laugh at the image”.
The Professor chuckled. “Well, the answer depends on your definition of a fart. If you consider farting to be the by-product of digestion, gases expelled solely through the rear-end then no, most fish don’t fart”.
“Perhaps, with the exception of herring and sand sharks”.
“Some may say they’ve observed air escaping from the nether region of a fish after they gulped air at the surface, but this isn’t really a product of digestion so can it be termed a fart?” The Professor looked at him.
Eliot held his chin in thought for some time before answering. “To me…, so long its air escaping from the nether region, it’s fart!”
The Professor laughed then. “You’re so weird Eliot’.
WHOOSH!
The Giant Spider was now closer than ever before.
Death was now closer than ever before.
In this gate of life and death, Eliot’s eyes gleamed with conviction as taking a deep breath through his gills, he opened his mouth the next moment.
He already noticed a tiny bamboo shoot that jutted out of the water’s surface outside. In this critical moment, Eliot placed his mouth underneath the bamboo shoot the next moment and sucked hard.
Bulb!
A bubble of air was sucked inside the bamboo shoot.
This bubble of air traveled fast to the bottom where it sank into the belly of the fish that sucked it.
Instantly after this, Eliot’s eyes became red.
He remembered his legendary call of duty days at this moment. At this moment, he felt like his avatar just got legendary ammunition.
Fear disappeared from Eliot’s heart the next moment, replaced by undaunted confidence as he watched the Spider who was now closer than ever before now.
If that green blade touched him, he would die but he no longer feared.
At the last second before contact, Eliot groaned.
“Ugh…!”
“Special Legendary Magic Ability…” Eliot growled.
He forced it and it came out.
POOT!
“…Demolition Fart!”
Green gas came out of the nether region of this fish the next moment.
Sniff!
The Spider made a deadly mistake and sniffed instinctively.
“…!” It paused the next moment as the eyes of this deadly predator turned blood red and filled with veins.
Sniff!
“…!” The eyes of the Giant Spider turned white the next moment.
Eliot finally opened his eyes and seeing the outcome, his eyes widened in shock as they seemed to burst out of their sockets.
“Holy sh*t, it worked!”
“He fainted!”
The Giant Spider fainted.“…” Eliot was put at a crossroads.‘Damn! I can’t leave it behind…’‘I mean, this is a goddamn evolved beast!’‘If I manage to kill it now, I have no doubt that I’ll get enough XP to level up to the climax to be able to use my single species evolution orb, but…,’ He grimaced. ‘Are evolved beasts really that weak?’‘I managed to make it faint only because I caught it off-guard with my fart’.‘I have no doubt that he’ll curse my full generation on waking up’.‘Despite him being vulnerable now though, this guy’s skin is hella thick…, I doubt my juvenile teeth has what it takes to punch through this’.‘Besides, what if biting it wakes it up…?’That was the cue that Eliot needed to not spend a second longer here.[You have activated skill: Dash!]Whoosh!Eliot disappeared.…Huff! “…”“…”“…..!” Eliot was speechless. He was stunned as for a few seconds, he just looked at chief.‘Holy sh*t, that was fast!’ He thought. All the fish of this school watched everything that happened, still stunned as their tiny eyes kept on alternating between the 2 fish at the center of attention.Eliot and chief were quiet throughout as the fish looked at them. They looked at chief one last time. Then they looked at Eliot again.“Chief!” They roared.“New chief!”“New chief!”“New chief!” The school of fish started celebrating on the spot.‘Well, that works’. Eliot felt awkward being at the center of their attention but he was ready to take it having experienced the reality of this world already.Brother swam closer to Eliot the next moment, he looked across him.“Bonkers! What will he be called now?”“Brother?”“No”. Eliot looked at the largest fish of this school. Then he looked at the other fish. “Call him ex chief”.“Ex Chief!” They roared.“…”…A few minutes after the inaugur
During his 2 days of independence, even as Eliot tried to adapt and survive independently alongside brother, he also did some experiments. One of these experiments was related to his support system.“Umm, support system, can I use the system on others apart from myself?”[An active request has been made!][You have unlocked Support System Gimmick: Snooping Tool!][Snooping Tool: This gimmick enables you to use the system to spy on other organism’s status.][NOTE: The requirements to use the snooping tool on a target is either be affiliated to said organism or get the permission of the said organism.]After this, Eliot did not hesitate to use the snooping tool on brother.[Snooping Tool Activated!]-----Name: Brother BonkersLevel: 3Stats:Power: 2.3Speed: 7Mind: 2Toughness: 1.8Luck: 0[Health Points: 25/25][Skills: Dash; Bite; Devour; Camouflage; Mate][Species: Chinook Salmon]----Brother bonkers like Eliot approved of the system to call him was level 3 and it was clear, he w
Eliot used the past few days as the chief productively.Apart from training the previously chaotic fish school into a cohesive unit, he also did some personal observation on his part.Led by Commander Bomber, as the fish of the attack department went out to hunt successfully for the fish school, Eliot noticed something.During the past few days of hunting, a few of the fish in the attack department were able to level up, he noticed due to his snooping tool. This was when he arrived at a theory after careful analysis.‘Commander Bomber and ex chief are already level 5 fish’.‘It’s clear that level 5 is the first climax point for Salmon fish, to grow further, they need to use a single species evolution orb to evolve and gain magic’.This brought an idea to tweak the hunt strategy of the attack department.‘Since Commander Bomber no longer has use for XP unless he uses a single species evolution orb, there’s no use for him landing the killing blow to prey’.‘I will introduce a strategy t
[WARNING! A powerful predator has been discovered!][You have encountered a Barracuda Fish!][Support system tip: Escape!]“Game on!” Eliot was excited. The Barracuda of the West was huge.Almost 3 times as big as the average Chinook Salmon in this hunt force, the Salmon fish could not help but be intimidated on the first sight of the beast. This was the first time that they were hunting a beast bigger than them. Most times, ex chief only targeted fish schools that were smaller and weaker than them, this was the safest avenue to eat and grow in his opinion. But not anymore, chief Eliot was different.Despite this Barracuda not evolving to access magic yet, it was clear that he was a veteran hunter. “Ok, ok, this is how we’ll do it”. Eliot faced his assistant. “We have to trim the options down so we’ll use this strategy”. “Which of them do you hate the most?” “We’ll use that to narrow them down first”. Eliot barely finished when ex chief roared. “Definitely those f*ckers!” Eliot stared at him. “Who?” “Those f*ckers!” ‘Damn, I swear I’ll kill this mother*cker one day’. Eliot thought in exasperation as he glared at ex chief. “Who?!” “Ahh…, sorry, it’s those Mata Mata”. “Gosh, they’re so arrogant”. “They kill with style, so arrogant and foolish!” Ex chief stared at Eliot again. “Not only them, the Vampire fish crew too but unlike the Mata Mata, I truly fear them”. “Even during the days of Chief, their raids left us with huge casualties”. “I don’t want us to fight them”. “The Stingray clan too, I hate them”. “And the Tiger Fish clan too, those f*ckers!” “And I think…” “Wait!” Eliot stopped him. “I think that’s enough”. “Let’s narrow it down further, tell me about th
