“…”

Seeing the line of words written in the system interface before him, for a few seconds Eliot was left stunned.

Then, his eyes widened. ‘Leveling up…’

‘I almost forgot; I can level up!

His eyes widened even further as he came to a realization.

‘If I can level up, does it mean the others can level up too?’

‘I bet they can, I already noticed that they grow stronger the same way that I do, perhaps its also due to the process of leveling up’.

‘When I meet chief again, I should ask him’.

‘If anyone would have an answer to my questions, it should be him’.

‘Another thing is…,’ His mind briefly flashed to the epic battle that he encountered today. ‘I think I finally know how those guys managed to become so strong, especially the Eel despite being just an Electric Eel’.

‘If every level up makes you stronger like my support system just indicated, then what happens after you get to the climax point?’

‘According to the system, by using the single species evolution orb, you gain the ability to enter a progressive evolution tree exclusive to a certain species’.

‘The Piranhas, that sea snake, and that electric eel probably used a single species evolution orb to evolve and hence why they accessed magic’.

Eliot felt hyped instantly as he came to this theory. ‘This means that every single species probably has access to magic too if they evolve’.

‘This means I can also use magic!’

‘I’ll have to ask chief for confirmation later but for now…’

Sleep already left Eliot’s eyes, having just found a new goal to hunting apart from filling his hungry stomach, Eliot went out hunting again as he dragged brother along. They killed 3 more prey that night before sleeping.

The next day, Eliot woke up to another day as a Salmon Fish.

While wondering how far away the Salmon school swam in panic, he took the lead again as he led brother on a hunting spree.

He wanted XP more than ever before now.

Life as an independent fish away from a school was not easy but Eliot and brother tried. Using their strategy of watching each other’s backs, they were able to avoid deadly predators while hunting efficiently.

Eliot also noticed that after his level up, swimming became easier and he also noticed the difference in his bite power, he was now stronger.

This realization only made him more motivated to get more XP.

After the 10th kill of the day, when it was already getting towards the evening again, Eliot received a surprise system notification.

[Congratulations! You have managed to adapt to life as a Salmon Fish!]

[You have achieved the incredible feat of living independently as a Salmon!]

[You have fulfilled the requirements to unlock a system mission!]

[2 Missions Unlocked!]

[System Mission: Conquer the Eastern border of the Thunder Reef!]

[Mission Reward: Unknown!]

[System Mission: Leave the surface of the Heaving Gulf!]

[Mission Reward: XP and Single Species Evolution Orb!]

“…!”

Again, Eliot was stunned into silence by the words of his system.

His brain geared into overdrive as he looked at the words written before him. ‘I should conquer the eastern border of the Thunder Reef?’

The first thing he did was to look around him.

He already noticed since long ago that where he reincarnated was a massive coral reef. ‘Is the name of this place the Thunder Reef?’

‘Nice, I wonder how it got its name’.

He paused in thought again. ‘So, if this is the Thunder Reef? Does that mean that this whole water body is called the Heaving Gulf?’

Eliot felt happy at this moment because he was getting more knowledge about this new world that he found himself, knowledge is power.

He turned to look at his only companion. “Brother, let’s get one more kill before we decide to retreat for the night”.

“Ok, big bro Eliot, bonkers!” Brother was excited.

This time, they found it harder to find prey.

Despite swimming for a long distance already, they did not see any prey to feast on and instantly, Eliot became alert as he noticed some parallels here.

This was exactly what happened when they encountered the sea snake.

His cautiousness paid off as 3 minutes later, Eliot saw it.

CLAP!

The Salmon Fish reeled in pain as the giant leg of the predator slapped at it, grabbing it with practiced ease as the fish was slammed against the rock beneath.

As the Salmon bled, the predator instantly started feasting on its prey.

All the while the Salmon was alive as the predator feast on it.

“…!” Witnessing this moment, Eliot felt the creeps.

‘F*ck!’

‘F*ck! Foolish Salmon!’

‘Why is it that you guys always appear in the creepy places?!’ He felt for his stupid specie at this moment.

[WARNING! A powerful predator has been discovered!]

[You have encountered a mutated Goliath Bird-Eater Spider!]

[Support system tip: Escape!]

Eliot didn’t even need the system tip to decide to escape.

This was a spider that was almost 3 times bigger than a Salmon fish, he would be a fool to go near such an anomaly of nature.

And despite the fact that the spider didn’t need much effort to kill that Salmon fish, Eliot was pretty sure that this bad boy also had magic.

He had no intentions of staying a second longer.

But just as he got set to leave, he remembered something. ‘Salmon don’t move alone…’

He froze. ‘They move in schools’.

His eyes instantly widened as he looked around this area in a frenzy. He didn’t even have to look hard or long, he saw them.

At the front, he led the school, swaggering carelessly across the water without a care of the world like he was the apex predator of this water.

‘That f*cker!’ Eliot cursed; this was not the reunion that he wanted.

It was no one else, it was chief.

Looking round rapidly, Eliot came to the conclusion that there was no way for the foolish family he had to miss this predator, he made an impulsive decision.

[You have activated skill: Dash!]

Whoosh!

Eliot dashed into the open as he swam between the spider and the school of fish, there was still some distance between them.

Hurling water into his mouth the next moment, he roared.

“DANGER!”

“RUN…!”

Well, that worked like hell.

WHOOSH!

Chief disappeared.
