Charlie had taken his leave, different person now, a salary earner.

“So James what do you plan to do with Jaxon now that the truth is out in the open?” Lana asked.

“I’m thinking about, I probably should go confront him.” James answered.

“Do you really think that would be a good idea?”

“What else would you have me do?” James asked.

“Let us take it slow, we would catch him in his own net.” Lana said.

“And how do you propose we do that?”

“Just wait.” Lana said.

“James? Lana?” El spoke weakly.

“El you are awake.” Lana and James both said at the same time.

“Come on lie back down, you still need to rest.” James said, gently pushing her back down.

“What happened? It all occurred too fast. Why was he trying to kill me?” El asked.

She was just waking up and still confused and she couldn’t make head or tail from what had happened.

“Just relax El, we got it under control, I promise you no harm whatsoever is going to come you anymore.” Lana promised, patting Ellen’s hair.

“I’m tired.

In Ellen’s room, James and Lana sat quiet for a while, none speaking until Lana broke the silence.“I told you James.” Lana said and stifled her laughter so she didn’t disturb Ellen’s rest.“Yeah right you did. I can’t with that look on his face and everyone talking at the same time and shoving phones and flashes in his face.” James said shaking his head and grinning at the recollection.“So what do you plan to do?” Lana asked.“What do I plan to do? With Jaxon?”James asked.“Yes of course with Jaxon. You seriously are not going to let him go just because he got flustered by some cameras and few people calling him out. That isn’t your plan yeah?” Lana asked.“I thought that was enough to put him back in his place.” James said.“Oh James. Jaxon just got into his car and drove away, knowing him, he’ll probably run to his mighty father for help and the poor girl would be shut up before she can even start to speak, and James is just going to walk free, end of karma. And this wouldn’t be e

James was thinking on his way to the office. He couldn’t exactly decide how to feel about Ellen. He knew there was something but he didn’t exactly know what it was and something told him that if he saw Alisha again, if he talked to her, he’d get drawn in again. After all he said he guessed he still wasn’t quite over her. Was he happy with her? He couldn’t tell but he had at least felt satisfied. He had liked calling her his wife, sex with her was also good and he had been generally okay with how things were with them and he would have stuck to that if not for what had happened with them. And then there is Ellen, a fire burned within him for her and when they had kissed that night, he had wanted to take it farther than just that, her flaming red hair, her little tilt to the side and her smile was enough to get him all fired up.*** On the same day, Alisha was somewhere wringing her fingers. She had heard of Jaxon’s scandal, read about and watched videos of it.He had been accused of

James was done with his work and was heading to the hospital where Ellen was now alone. Lana had also had to go at some point. He was stepping in when he accidentally bumped against someone because he was on his phone.“I’m sorry I didn't mean to do that, I wasn’t looking.” James said.“It’s okay, I wasn’t either.” she said.He looked up and realized that it was the girl who harassed Jaxon earlier on.“Hey, it’s you from earlier. Look I just want to say I am sorry for how things happened with you.” he said. She just gave a weak smile, why are you the one saying sorry?” she asked.“I don’t know, it’s just I think guys, men should be more responsible and on any occasion I see one not behaving that way, I get ashamed of being a man myself.”

The next morning, Lana walked into Ellen's hospital room with a bunch of flowers in her hands.James was already there, he has been there since yesterday after bumping on Paula. He was afraid that something may go wrong and so had decided to stay by her side all through yesterday.“Good morning El, here this is for you.” Lana said, handing Ellen a bunch of flowers.“Oh Lana, thank you. But I wasn’t expecting you here, James told me you had this meeting to prepare for and that it’s by ten o’clock, it’s just five minutes to an hour.” Ellen said.“Yeah that’s right, I did have a meeting but it’s been moved so I just thought I’d run here come see you off, you are getting discharged after all.” Lana explained.“But you are ready for the meeting, yeah? I could always handle everything on my own.” James said.“It’s fine. I said it. I am beginning to think that you two would rather not have me here.” Lana said.“Oh don’t even start with your teasing.” Ellen said.“Come on, what are you even t

“So, what do you all want me to do?” Paula asked when they had all sat and she had offered them a drink of water, she didn’t have much in the house. ‘I briefly explained it to you, and I want you to understand what you are doing and that there would definitely be opposition and you would probably take some risks and this set of people wouldn’t stop at anything to stop you or make you suffer.” James explained. She looked at each of their faces for a while before she answered, “Yes, I understand and I have decided to go along with you guys and besides I feel protected with you three. And if anything were to happen to me, that would be at least more evidence to prove that Jaxon is as vile as anything from the pit of hell.” Paula said, gritting her teeth at the last words. “Think well about this Paula, you sound like you are making this decision just from your emotions, you have to be clear headed, I mean if you don’t want to speak out we would still be glad to help you. Just breathe, a

Meanwhile, at the same time in the Sterling mansion. Jaxon and his dad were having a troubled conversation.“I saw him with my own eyes, that bastard. He is going to help her.” Jaxon was fuming.“Saw him where and with who?” Thomas Sterling, Jaxon’s father asked him.“With Paula, at her house.” Jaxon answered, pacing to and fro in the room.It looks like he was going to punch the wall or break a vase.“You fool! You went there, I asked you to lay low. Do you know the implication of what you’ve done?!” Mr. Sterling screamed.“What? I didn’t do anything…” Jaxon trailed off.“You did do something and the earlier you tell me about it, the better for us all and for you most of all.” Mr. Sterling said.“Well I hit her, but that wouldn’t create more problems would it?” Jaxon asked.“Would it? Why don’t you tell me? You have once already been accused of assault and you hit her again? Are you really thinking with your brains or with your lower half? What problem would it cause you to ask me? T

"Sir, I do not think there is anyone here. We looked around and it seemed like someone had packed a bag. Whoever you hoped to find, they left before we showed up.” a man said to Jaxon.“The damned witch! I’ll make sure I find her and torture her slowly, maybe take her all over again. My dad is in that condition because of her.” He said and upended a table.“So what do we do now?” The man asked him.“Trash it. Whoever left shouldn’t return to a house, at least not in one piece. But first I have something to do.” Jaxon said and made his way to the bedroom. He had had a lot of girls before, willingly and by force and most of them had been grateful and those who didn’t feel that way were only too scared to speak out. He couldn’t bear the thought that this one not only spoke up but was also trying to destroy him.All of this got to him in different ways and he was suddenly excited. He went into the room, locked the door behind him and pulled down his pants.“Sir, can we go ahead now?” the

Even Alisha.“Hey Barry, are we ready?” “Yes James, we are ready but I have a question.” Barry answered.“Yes, what is it?”“I suggest we go live with the interview, there is just no time for us to record it first and then release it.”“So as the interview goes on, everyone can watch it and no time whatsoever would be lost. That is a good idea, let’s roll.” James said.“Paula, you ready? Cameras are going to roll soon.” James asked.“Yes, I am. Let’s do this.”“1,2,3…we’re on.”“Good afternoon everyone, this is Newsweek and I am your host for today, Barry Ortiz and with me here is Paula Raven. It’s good to hav

His hair, neatly combed, glinted under the lights, and his weathered face was set in a mask of calm, though his sharp gray eyes flicked to the diner’s entrance every few seconds. She clutched a tablet, her posture professional but her eyes curious. “Mr. Clarkson, the meeting’s in an hour. Need anything prepped?” Her voice was crisp, but a slight tilt of her head betrayed her interest in his mood.James flashed a disarming smile, masking the storm in his mind. He leaned back, tossing the pen onto the desk with a casual flick. “Just the financials, Ana. And… any word from Patel’s team on the virus cleanup?”Ana crossed the room, her heels clicking softly on the hardwood floor. She stopped at the desk, tapping her tablet to pull up a file. “Nothing official. Mr.

His sharp blue eyes, usually calm, flickered with unease as he stared at the muted TV screen mounted on the wall. The news ticker blazed: “EMC VIRUS NEUTRALIZED: COMPANY RESTORED TO FULL OPERATIONS.”James’s jaw tightened. Yesterday’s headlines had been a whirlwind of relief for EMC—customers flooding back, stock prices climbing, and employees celebrating. But to James, it felt too neat, too sudden. He’d long suspected Williams Jesse, the cunning tech manager, and Mr. Sterling, the manipulative head of the board, was behind the virus that had crippled EMC’s systems
