CHAPTER 99
The cheerful atmosphere turned tense as guests watched the confession of Mrs. Maria and her family members. The guests were disappointed in Lawrence Nelson for what he did and for associating with the millers.

With a sense of urgency, the chief of police and two other officers emerged and sauntered towards Mrs. Maria whose face was engrossed in shame and embarrassment.

“Mrs. Maria, You are under arrest for fraud and perjury Any thing you do or say will be used against you in the court of law.” The chief of police said with an authoritative tone.

Mrs. Maria protested. “What is this, you are wrong, I have not done anything wrong. Let me go.” She screamed.

“Shame on you, Mrs. Maria. You and your family are a disgrace and I am sure your husband will be disappointed in you and your children in his grave.” one of the guests said.

“You are fake Mrs. Maria, I wish you had died in that car accident. Arrest her and make sure she doesn't return to this city. She is a bad influence.” another guest
