CHAPTER 31The evening arrived, faster than expected. Bright lights flashed everywhere at the Mals events place. The high and ostentatious men and women of Sweint city filled the hall dressed in their glamourous attires and their bright colours. The sound of soft music filled the hall as waiters walked through pathways, serving drinks and champagnes to whomever was willing to take. The guests that mattered were done arriving except for the most controversial family; the Moore's, the most Influential family; the Wills and the wealthiest family on Sweint; The Gracehills.Everyone waited for these three prominent families to show up. They seemed to arrive in their heirarchy. The Moores arrived first in their Limo. Desmond stepped out and helped his wife and daughter out of the car. He gripped both ladies on both arms as they walked onto the red carpets. The press gathered with their cameras and taking unsolicited pictures of the family.Bella took a deep breath. “I can do this,” she mutt
CHAPTER 32The pain Bella felt was nothing compared to want she was about to encounter.“I thought you were supposed to be beside him?” One lady said behind her. Bella turned around to get a view of this woman. Neither her face nor her voice were familiar.“Do I know you?” Bella asked with a stern gaze. “ And why should I answer that?”“Oh… I am sorry if my question offends you, but we all saw your wedding videos all over the internet. So, why her?” The woman persisted.Bella was becoming irritated and angered by the woman's persistence and lack of courtesy.“Are you not mature enough to understand boundaries, Lady?” Bella replied harshly.“Why not? But there are no boundaries when you made the entire world a part of your life already. If the news of the wedding was stuffed on us, then we should also know about the break up as well.” The woman was so confident and unwavered by Bella's frowns and her gimmicks.Bella found herself falling apart.“What do you want me to say?” Bella asked
CHAPTER 33The music filled the halls again and the networking began. The entire evening was about networking.Men and women walked across the hams to each other to speak about business partnership and connection.Desmond walked towards Baron Wills father; Andrew where he stood with Jameson.“Andrew Wills” he called him by his first name without a title.Andrew Wills offered a handshake to Desmond and Jameson too.“How are you doing?” Mr Andrew asked with a smirk.“I would like to say that I am not doing that bad, especially after the rocky messages I received from The FORTTHORN group in Geneva. But I could do better.”Andrew Wills swallowed hard a lump that was in his throat and he shifted his weight to his left foot.“What happened with the FORTHORN?” Jameson asked looking from Andrew to Desmond. “I guess your friend and partner should answer that. He should let us know why he allowed childish shenanigans get in the way of a blooming business association,” Desmond stated.“You allo
CHAPTER 34It was the heat of the party and the noise from the crowd hid Bella and her intentions. The strange woman put the bangle on Bella's wrist, adjusting it to fit her perfectly. Then she smiled.“You are all set. Go ye now and destroy their lovely and prideful acknowledgement.”“You are sure that this would not kill her? I don't want to be responsible for her death.” Bella's was a bit anxious.“I give you my word. She will react in an embarrassing way to the effects of it after which she will likely faint. But after a few hours, she will be just fine. Maybe dizzy but fine.”The woman's confidence was enticing but Bella was still not convinced. She asked further.“Not that I care if she is dead or alive but I just need to be sure that she does not die at my hands. So, I would like you to assure me one more time that this would not prompt death.”“I mean, how else do I need to convince you? Would you like to try it first?” The woman asked with a mischievous grin.Bella cast a dis
CHAPTER 35Baron was still terrified by the scary news that was flying around on blogs, about him and Bella expecting a baby. “She is playing you into a trick, “ Cassie insisted. “You should ignore her.”“She cannot be lying with a baby in her womb? For how long does she intend to pretend if it is a lie?” Baron was falling for the trick and becoming engrossed in it.“I mean, how would you believe the words of an opportunist? You told me a week ago about the contract you put an end to and you strongly believe tha Bella means?” Cassie was heavily concerned about his heart being tossed around again.“Why not? She is my wife and it is not as though we have officially ended things. So, why should I not believe her?”“Because she only wants you for her father's sake! She is doing this for her family, moron!” Cassie was agitated.“what the hell? If it were for her family, then her father should be the one coming to seek my face. But no, it isn't him doing so. It is his daughter. There is so
CHAPTER 36“Someone tried to take my wife's life and you tell me it is not the man who served her the drink?” Jayden went off on the inspector. The inspector was quiet.“What do you people really do in that police department? You seem to me like a bunch of jokers and I think this is the time to report you all to the highest authority in the state.”“Oh, come on, Mr GRACEHILL. There really would not be any need for that yet. I merely was trying to explain why we decided to met the young man again. His story corraborated twice. We saw no reasons to keep him behind the bars,” the Inspector was exhausted by Jayden's persistence.“So, I become the collateral damage for someone's foolish act and you will not deal accordingly with him? Then fish out the culprit! Somebody is clearly after the Gracehills, after us. First my grandfather, now my wife in an open event. She was disgraced and then I am supposed to ignore?” Jayden's eyes burned like a flame.“No, I am not asking you to be calm, I am
CHAPTER 37Jayden walked back into his bedroom and tore his buttons apart. The world seemed to be coming down on him and his shoulders seemed heavy. He took a note pad from the desk and a pen from his drawer. Then he walked into his tub and sat in the water. He was stark and his heart was filled with pain and agony burned in his heart.“Whatever the heck this is, I cannot take it. I am sure not to let these vampires break me and my family,” he muttered to himself.“What can I do?” He thought to himself, trying to draw a sketch of possible actions he could take against whoever these killers were. He began to angrily jot down possible names:Aunty Hellena, Bella Moore, Baron Wills, Desmond Moore, Allen Moore, Robert, Valentino and Matthew, and his list ended. No other names could come to his mind. He did not get the name of the waiter then he added: Waiter. Then he drew rubbish lines across the names he had just jotted and flung the book across the bathroom into his bedroom.“Damn all o
CHAPTER 38The dye was cast. Baron and Bella were meeting up in a quiet part of town.He set the time for 4pm and intentionally refused to speak with Cassie. She knew he had a date and she kept calling and calling but he would not pick.*Ding!*She dropped a message.I know that you are avoiding my calls purposely and I know this has a lot to do with your date but I'd like to say this; I am not letting that lady have another bit of you if she does not mean to stay. I am not giving up on you, just yet. I will make sure I make it difficult for her.Love,Cassie.Baron read through and burst into laughter. “Witty queen,” he muttered and finished up his dressing with a hat on his head.He wore it because Bella loved him a lot with his hats. He had a dim red shirt with a pair of jeans on and a pair of black snickers. He got into his car and drove through the streets to the location. He did not want to get there before her and he was sure she would be late. So he sat in his car and got bus
