On the same night, Jim didn’t cook Ants Fry. Instead, he made a juicy fry out of lamb chops, which made Marc completely forget about the fact that Jim was supposed to cook Ants Fry.
Everybody except Marc didn’t praise the dish.
“Today’s dish is a bit strange,” Lola, his mother-in-law, said. “Did you change the recipe this time?”
“No. Is it bad?”
“It’s not bad, but it’s strange.” She looked at her daughters who also said the same thing.
Jim tasted the curry, but he felt its taste to be normal.
Lola then openly took out a hundred dollar bill from her purse and handed it to Jim. She would do this every night after dinner. Jim would use this money for buying groceries and paying other bills. If there was any pocket change, he’d keep it because Lola told him to.
However, it wasn’t just Jim who received money every night. Shiney also asked her mother for her pocket money. Lola, depending on her mood, would give her daughter a weekly allowance of anywhere between 100 to 1000 dollars. To put it simply, Shiney received more for her pocket money than what it cost for Jim to buy groceries and other things for the family per week.
Jim would be lying if he said he wasn’t upset about that, but he never acted up for this reason, either. He only minded his business.
“By the way, Lola,” Marc respectfully spoke with his wife, “how are things going on your side? Have you managed to contact the people of Draknor Finance?”
“I am, but it’s not proving to be easy,” Lola sounded a little disappointed. “Their standards are too high… just like their egos.”
“Still, don’t give up. You’re the most talented financier I’ve ever seen,” Marc tried to motivate her.
“Thank you, Marc. I’m going to join Draknor Finance one day and fulfill my dream,” she said with certainty.
“I’ll always support you,” Marc said and then once again raised his bum in Jim’s direction.
A brief silence followed.
“You are farting too often lately, Dad,” Shiney said with a poker face. “You should get yourself looked at.”
“I would if I could afford visiting a doctor,” Marc pitifully said.
“Tch,” Lola took out 500 dollars and put it on the table. “I want you to show me the hospital bill.”
“Of course,” Marc gladly pocketed the money. “You’re truly kind-hearted, my dear.”
After dinner, Jim washed dishes. It took him almost 45 minutes because there were a lot of dishes to be cleaned tonight.
[I feel bad for you, Jim.] Anne said.
“Why?” Jim asked casually. Considering Anne’s personality, the words she spoke didn’t really fit her according to him.
[You sold your restaurant and gave 4.3 million dollars to Lola.] Anne said. [Not only did she clear her debts with that money, she also started a finance business. Now, she’s become one of the richest people in this neighborhood, all because you helped her and her family four years ago. But now, look at how she’s treating you, giving you a hundred dollar note every night like throwing biscuits to a dog.]
“She’s not as bad as you make her sound to be, Anne,” Jim confidently said. “She’s just very careful and conservative. That’s why she doesn’t give me more money everyday.”
“Bullshit. She gives her younger daughter a lot of money right before your eyes, and you still can’t see through her?]
“Shiney will cry and start destroying things if Lola doesn’t give her money,” Jim reasoned. “That’s why Lola has no other option but to give her money.”
[I think that’s just an excuse.]
“Stop trying to spoil my relationship with others,” Jim coldly said. “I know you can do all sorts of complex calculations, but I know what kind of a woman my mother-in-law is more than you can ever know, so don’t give me unnecessary lectures, got it?”
[But she has completely wrapped you around her finger. I’m sure you can see that as well, but you’re not fighting back because you’re not able to make Rena pregnant.]
Jim pursed his lips. “I’m going to change that.”
He went to his room and took a bath before coming back to the dining table and consuming the bean soup. After chewing on a mouth freshener, he went to Rena’s room and knocked on the door.
Nothing happened.
He knocked again.
A moment later, his mobile rang. It was Rena calling, so he answered.
“What?” she asked.
“Open the door. I want to come in,” Jim stated in a somewhat commanding tone.
“For what?”
“I ate lots of beans today. I think I can do it,” Jim said, albeit a bit hesitantly this time.
“You said the same thing a week ago,” she uttered in a tired voice. “I don’t have time for this, Jim. I have important work tomorrow, so go to your room and sleep.”
“I’m standing outside until you open the door,” Jim added.
“Do what you want,” she ended the call.
“Ugh,” Jim put the phone in his pocket and crossed his arms. He just stood outside the door as he said he would.
Seconds passed.
Seconds added into minutes, but the door didn’t open. He didn’t even receive a phone call, either.
Jim’s expression stayed stiff as minutes added up into hours.
The next morning.
Lola was the first to wake up, and she called Jim for her bed coffee, but he didn’t respond. She came outside to look for him, only to find him standing outside her daughter’s room.
“Jim, what are you standing here for?” she asked him. “Go and make coffee.”
“Sorry, but I need to talk with my wife first,” Jim said with a stiff face.
“Huh?” Lola didn’t get what the issue was, but she started knocking on the door. “Rena, wake up!”
After ten knocks on the door, Rena opened the door. “What is it, Mom?” She was surprised to see not just her mother but also Jim. Judging by his posture, his red eyes, and the rigid look on his face, she said, “Wait, were you standing here the whole night?”
“I am,” Jim stepped forward and entered the room before turning around to look at his mother-in-law. “I’m going to take a leave for today, so don’t bother me or your daughter about anything. Don’t let anyone knock on the door, either.”
“What are you…” Rena was saying, and Jim shut the door in his mother-in-law’s face and then turned to face Rena. He had this heated look in his eyes, as if he wanted to eat her alive. Clearly, he was angry that she made her stand him for a whole night. “J-Jim, you’re not in the right mood. This isn’t the time to—”
If there was a time that Rena could never forget, it would be her first night after marriage. She just married one of the most handsome men she had ever seen in her life, and he was also the son of her mother’s elder brother. She knew him from a young age, and she would be lying if she said she was never attracted by his looks and contagious smile. But because they were cousins, she never dared to ask him out. However, by a twist of fate, she ended up marrying him. Naturally, she had a lot of expectations on her first night, where she was ready to give her purity to her husband. But then, by another bigger twist of fate, that entire night went by with Jim doing his best to just get his little brother up.At first, she thought he was just tense, but as days went by, Jim was only barely able to harden his little brother, and this was nowhere near enough for doing anything. She secretly took him to the doctors and then understood that he has some rare complications, and that he might get
“I never wanted to ask for the money I’ve given you,” Jim said with a heavy heart, “but you’re earned a lot through finance, and now you’re very capable of giving me my money. I don’t need any interest. Just give me the 4.3 million dollars, and I’ll sign the documents wherever you want me to.”Lola could not maintain a straight face anymore. “J-Jim, you gave me money, but I gave you my daughter. I let you live in my home for four years.”Jim didn’t like her response at all. “Are you saying you don’t want to give my money back?”Lola didn’t respond this time.“I worked my ass off in this house, Aunt, even though your husband treated me like shit,” Jim growled, “even though you treated me not as your brother’s son but just as would treat a maid. And I never complained about that, did I? So, stop with your nonsense, and give me money.”Lola sipped on the coffee that he made and softly shook her head. “Sorry, but my money is spread out, and collecting it from different people and companie
Bernard Williams.Jim searched this name online and found out that Bernard was promoted to a lawyer in the supreme court about a year ago.“Whoa, this guy is a big deal,” Jim thought. “He should be earning a lot of money with every case, so why does he want to talk to me? Just how much does my dad owe him?” His heart started beating faster.[Until you go and talk to him, you will never know.] Anne stated.“... You’re right.” Jim was required to pay seven dollars for using the internet in the cafe. He also needed to pay three more dollars for the coffee. However, he took the sim card out of his mobile, deleted all the information in it, factory-resetted the phone and gave it to the cafe owner in exchange for letting him use the cafe. The owner shamelessly took the mobile. As Jim walked out of the cafe, Anne asked, [Are you sure you want to leave your mobile? You have a lot of online friends, don’t you?]“Yeah, but they are a distraction now,” Jim said. After workout, chatting online an
The dog was still stuck in the gate, and the second dog was still trying to help.Bernard brought Jim back to the hall above and plopped down in his extra large couch, which was also his bed. He picked up his bowl of berries again.“So, tell me, why did you say you can’t give all the gold to me?” Jim asked the question that he had been itching to ask for the past five minutes because it took them five minutes to come up from the vault.“I’m your family’s trustee,” Bernard tossed a berry to Jim. He caught it but didn’t eat it. “My responsibility isn’t just to blindly give you money but to give you in a way it’ll benefit you. For instance, as per the agreement, if you have any debts unrelated to gambling and drugs, I will clear them all for you for just one time, in your entire lifetime. If you want me to provide for your house rent or your children’s education, I will also happily do that because it’s part of the agreement. If you want money for investment, then yes, I will gladly help
Bernard was sitting on his couch and watching 8K television, with his dogs sleeping on either side.Bernard’s thoughts drifted to the conversation he had with Jim. “If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t have given all the money to my aunt after selling my father’s restaurant. I would have at best given her half, but he gave everything to her. I’m not sure if he did that because he’s naive or because trusting others in his family’s nature, but whatever the case, his aunt now brought him to the streets. That cunning, shameless woman…”Meanwhile, Jim was walking down the street by himself. He still found all the things that Bernard had shown him and told him unbelievable. He had asked Bernard for some pocket money as he had empty pockets, but Bernard refused to give him even a penny.Bernard’s words played in Jim’s mind: Don’t mistake me for your ATM. I’m your boss until I find you worthy to put you on top of my head.“If only I can read that agreement, then I will know how exactly to deal
[It’s just a fake blowjob. I will use my voice to stimulate your neurons so that you will have no other choice but to release stress through your penis. Want me to show you?] Anne asked in a seductive voice, making Jim swallow his breath.“N-No. I’m a married man,” Jim denied her suggestion. “I-It doesn’t feel right to receive pleasure from another woman’s voice.”[Are you sure? I can tell from your thoughts that you’ve never received a blowjob.] Anne’s voice stayed the same, like a whisper of the ages that stimulated his insides against his will. [How cruel Rena must be for her to never even try something that can make a man feel like a mountain?]Jim’s little brother in the pants started to harden, and he didn’t want to walk that way, so he quickly sat down on the bench outside the small restaurant.[You can feel it already, can’t you?] Anne hissed. [Your little brother wants to burst out through those tight pants of yours because my sweet voice can raise your testosterone levels.
Though the usual sharp smile was missing on the chiseled face of the Greek-god lookalike, Keith lost the drink in her mouth from seeing him appear out of nowhere. “J-Jim?!” she didn’t know what else to say.“Hello, Keith, you look stunning, as always,” Jim commented, which was typical of him, but Keith began to smile and her body twined like a vine. “Mind if I share a drink?”“O-Of course,” Keith moved to her left. “Please sit.”“Thank you,” he sat in between the two tallest ladies in the bar. Fittingly, he was also the tallest man in the bar, not counting the abnormally tall bouncers. Many men that had their eyes on Keith and Rena all this while began to envy Jim who came out of nowhere and stole the attention of the two pretty women who were far too overdressed for their surroundings. “I’ll have a bourbon mixed with toasted rye.” He told the bartender. “As for the ladies, double bourbon cornbread, right?”“Yes, anything you order is fine for me,” Keith put her hand on Jim’s forearm.
Rena, the poor and pitiful wife who had never properly experienced sex before, had her body tremble right now. However, the thing is, she wasn’t the only one who had tingling sensations flowing through her body. Keith, too, could see what was going on, and she wished it was her hand that Jim was holding.Jim, on the other hand, felt a strange pain he had never quite experienced before. It wasn’t painful in a way he couldn’t bear it, and it was strangely pleasurable. He felt choked around his crotch area as pressure built up in his penis. Despite all the urge he felt to jump at Rena and kiss her and bite her cheeks, he somehow managed to keep his emotions in check and slowly moved Rena’s hand away from him.Rena’s heart beat in a different rhythm. She wasn’t sure if she wanted her hand to stay where it had or not.“Do you still doubt it?” Jim asked her.She couldn’t respond this time. How could she even talk when all that was running through her mind were a lot of questions that only a
THANK YOU:: JIM IS HIM… is finished! Have you enjoyed it? I hope so. I definitely enjoyed writing it as it was challenging. It was supposed to be a 500 chapter long work, but I condensed it and finished it quickly. To all those who read every chapter and reached this page… you have my humble thanks. A big thanks to readers Lynn Casey, Mickey Ritch, and Liwhundebe Emmanuel for their precious votes. A special thanks to Rex Magnus for his lovely review. Much appreciated, Brother. CHARACTERS:: I hope you can take away some memorable characters from this novel. My favorite character is Jim, not because he’s the protagonist, but because he will give me food if I go to his restaurant with empty pockets more than once. He didn't have many friends growing up, but if you ask Shiney, she’ll tell you that he’s the kind you wouldn’t want to end your relationship with once you get to know him. Then again, Shiney might give you a different answer depending on the mood she’s in when you ask her.
Sometime later.Jim and Rena were on a mountain top, enjoying the view of the magnificent forest. Her belly was slightly swollen.A couple of birds flew by.“How do they find food?” Rena curiously asked.“God provides for them,” Jim said.“Yeah, but he doesn’t drop food in their nests, would he?” Rena retorted.“We work like buffaloes, and then buy food, cook it, and then put it in our mouths, chew it, and then our stomach has to digest it,” Jim said. “Just like us, birds also fly about to find grains, bugs, spiders, and… they can see from afar unlike us. They can see a tiny spider that’s dancing on its web under a tree shade from hundreds of meters away. So, yeah, God equipped them with enough skills so they can feed themselves even though they don’t live under a roof like us.”Just then, a brown Bentley arrived at the scene.John stepped out first and then opened the door for her. She got up and said, “Why don’t you also carry me over there because I can’t walk, you know.”“I was ju
Seeing Rena enter the kitchen, Jim also rushed in. He took the coupons from her and then kissed her hand. This was part of the deal, after all.The thing that she requested of him for being a waitress was that he would kiss a part of her body once every time she would enter the kitchen. And she was loving it now as Jim was coming up to her no matter where he was or whatever he was doing and was kissing her in unexpected ways and in unexpected places at times. Luckily, the kitchen was not open for view, or it would have been impossible to have these cuddling and kissing endeavors. As they were hugging, Rena noticed a little creature sneakily enter the kitchen. “I-I-It’s a rat!”“WHAT?” Jim was shocked and angered. How dare a rat enter his restaurant on the day he opened it? And that, too, in the middle of the day? “Where is it?”“I don’t know. It disappeared,” Rena looked around but couldn’t find it.“These things are smart. The moment they think they’re in danger, they freeze,” Jim co
Two weeks passed since Jim revealed his ancestry to those of the Draknor Finance company. At Bob Shriner’s house.Bob had kidnapped a six-year-old girl and tied her to a chair. Wearing a clown mask, he was dancing around her chair to make her cry and feel the horror of it.After all, sacrificing after torturing the prey would bring best results for any dark path ritual, so Bob was very excited about it.After finishing his dance, he revealed his hidden knife and stabbed the girl’s head from the top. The knife went right through her skull and came down from the chin. He was grinning; however, a second later, he realized that not a single drop of blood spilled, and the little girl was grinning at him as if she was the predator and he was the prey.Bob quickly stumbled back. “W-Who the hell are you?”“She’s Systa,” a voice came from behind Bob, sending a chill down his spine because he couldn’t even sense the presence of this person. He turned back but didn’t recognize this man who was n
A few days after Jim revealed himself to the chairman of Draknor Finance. In Draknor Finance headquarters.Lola was working alone in the cafe as Jim had told her to not hire any workers and that she must run the cafe by herself for the next four years. She was making sandwiches in the cafe, and she ended up cutting a bit of her finger while cutting tomatoes. And it made her cry from pain and then cry some more because of the hardships she was facing. As if that wasn’t enough, when she took the sandwich to the customer, he complained to her saying, “I asked you to mildly heat them in order to keep them soft. Why did you roast them this much?”“Sorry, sir. I’ll do well next time.”“Next time? You mean you want me to eat this shit right now?” The customer was none other than Joker from the Beast Dungeon.“T-That’s not shit, sir. It’s only roasted a little more than you asked for.”“So, now, you’re teaching me, a new client of this company, about food,” he hissed at her and threw the sand
“If you want to keep working in this company, then you need to do two things,” Jim said, and Lola already found herself losing her posture. “First thing. Give me my restaurant back.”“Done,” Lola didn’t even hesitate to agree. “What’s the second one?”Jim smiled and said, “There are multiple cafes in this building. I want you to open a new cafe and work as the main cook there. You’ll be taking care of that shop for the next four years. And then I’ll take reviews from the employees. If you get a majority of good votes, then I’ll promote you to a financier level. Otherwise…”Lola was shaking in rage. “You want me to cook and sell food like you and your dad did? Go to hell! I’m never doing that!” she shouted and walked away in haste.Marc followed her, but he pleasantly smiled at Jim.Jim, however, didn’t even bat an eyelid. After Marc and Lola left the building, with the latter looking extremely humiliated, Jim turned to face Rena, “Was I too harsh?”Rena slightly shook her head. “She h
Jim put his hand forward, and Steve gently held it and kissed it.Lola’s heart, brain, lungs, and many other organs seemed to be suddenly failing to work at this very instance. The mobile and handbag in Caylene’s hand dropped. Her dad tilted his head back in stupendous shock.Marc looked utterly dumbfounded.Tom and his dad and sister seemed supremely flummoxed.Austin, on the other hand, looked horrified. Elisha’s face also froze in a bit of horror.Rena was the only one who was able to move. “W-What is this, Jim?” She stepped forward. She knew who Steve was, so she looked at Steve. “Why are you bowing to my husband? What is this? Why did you call him Lord Jim?”“He’s from the line of kings, so how else would you want me to call him?” Steve replied, still kneeling even though it was hurting him to do that at his age.“F-From the line of Kings? Who? Jim?” Rena looked very confused.“I cannot speak more about the Lord while in his presence,” Steve added. “So, please forgive me for not
On the ground floor, more than a dozen guards were lying on the floor. Some were still conscious but were in too much pain to get back. There were many people standing, but most of them were not even willing to step forward or get themselves involved in whatever was happening.Jim was still holding the broken arm of Austin who was crying blood at this point. Jim had defeated the guards while holding Austin’s arm. And this brought greater pain to Austin. The only reason he didn’t pass out from pain was because Jim bolstered his mind with psychic vivre so that he’d be able to endure it to an extent. Austin was not aware of this. Even though he was able to bear the pain, the pain was still there. He had to withstand the indescribable pain that throbbed all across his arm, especially near his elbow and shoulder.“Y-You monster…” Caylene couldn’t believe what had happened. She was not expecting Jim to defeat the guards so easily. “Just take some money and get lost from here.”“You can’t so
Steve Millman was talking with someone on his mobile.“He is likely going to come to your office today,” Bernard was speaking from the other side.“Lord is?” Steve was startled. “Today?”“Treat him well. I’ll be sending you his photo, so don’t mess up, or you’re the only one who’s going to suffer, Steve,” Bernard said and ended the call.As Bernard waited, every second felt long.More than fifteen long seconds later, he received a notification. He saw the photo. “So, this is Jim Draknor. He looks to be barely thirty. No, he could be younger.” He gritted his teeth. “I have to bow to this brat?” His ego felt very hurt right now.He called someone on his mobile and said, “I sent you a picture. Find out his identity immediately.”“Yes, sir. Just give me a minute.”Steve stayed on the call, and then the person from the other side said, “Sir Steve, I found information on him. He used to be an ordinary chef, but only a day ago, his name has been spreading through the underground circles all
