If Rena could be said to be sweet because of her looks as well as character, then Shiney could be said to be cute. Even though she acted a domineering girl most of the time, she came across as cute to everyone else in the family. She was the happy-go-lucky girl of the family.

However, when such a girl asked Jim if he would marry her, her sister and parents were shocked out of their wits.

“Shiney!” Both Rena and Lola yelled at the same time.

“What, Mom?” Shiney grabbed Jim’s arm. “Don’t tell me I can’t marry Jim because I like him more than you like my dad.”

Marc felt like he received an invisible slap on his coffee-soaked face.

“Shiney,” Lola growled, “let go of his hand right now.”

“Mom, can’t you see it?” Shiney asked.

“See what?”

“Brother-in-law returned home because he likes me,” Shiney confidently said. “All you need to do is give the green signal.”
