CHAPTER 43
At Julia’s house.

Julia was busy with her tailoring work. Her son was watching television while smoking a cigar. “Mom, I need some money.”

“I don’t have a dime to give to you,” Julia blurted. “If you want money, then find a job. Until then, I’ll feed you and let you stay under this roof. That’s all I’m going to do for you. Don’t expect more from me because my health isn’t as good as it was. The overwork is slowly getting to me.”

“Why do you waste your money on the court case?” her son, Daniel, snorted. “You won’t be able to bring Dad out with the little bit of money you are giving to the lawyer. All you’re doing is filling his pockets. When will you get that?”

“Then what do you want me to do?” she howled. “Give YOU money so you can smoke and drink yourself to death?”

“No, Mom. I was asking for money to buy some chocolates. Today is your birthday, right?” Daniel said, surprising her. “I will distribute the chocolates to the neighbors. I’m sure it’ll help you bring some clients.”
