CHAPTER 51

Jim started receiving pop up messages before him in midair, with Joe appearing in the form of a disembodied spirit. Joe looked like a boy in his teens, though his voice was rough like that of a grown man.

“Are you, Joe?” Jim asked, looking a little surprised.

“Yeah,” Jim kept swimming along the edges of the pop-up box and eventually settled on the top, as if sitting on it sideways, while facing Jim. [You completed the mission without suffering a single injury!] Joe looked happy and pleased. [You can now choose to improve one of your five senses. Which one do you want to improve? Sight, Touch, Taste, Smell, Sound? Which one?]

“Aren’t you going to give elaborate details on what each sense does after it’s improved?” Jim asked.

[Nope. You’ll have to figure things out for yourself since I still haven’t accepted you as my master.] Joe said. [I’ll start the one minute countdown, so choose one sense before the time limit expires?]
