CHAPTER 62

By midnight, two security guards were stationed outside Julia’s house. They were wearing casual outfits and were roaming like ordinary people, but they were hiding guns in many places, including many corners of Julia’s house.

After Jim told Julia and Daniel about the guards, he said he had to return to his home because Rena would have long come back. Though Daniel wanted him to stay, Julia told him to go home.

Jim told Daniel to be brave and take care of his mother.

He then headed home.

At Lola’s house.

Marc was talking with his two daughters while having breakfast. “It’s been more than a day since Jim left the house. His phone is switched off, so I can’t help but wonder what kind of stupid habits he’s learning outside. It’s never a good sign when a man, especially a jobless man, stays outside home for a long time.” His target was his eldest daughter, but she was calmly eating. “Rena… did you hear what I said?”

“I did,” Rena looked rather tired because she had to walk a lot during her
