At the middle of he night while everyone was asleep a strange noise was heard.

"Urgggggggg!

A loud battle cry reverberated throughout the cave as jack Harrison swung out his energy blade and sliced three huge spider monster head clean off. Black blood splattered around as the heads flew up into the air and fell down on the floor.

"We can't sleep now, it's not safe, let's go into the cave and recover the map. The more we get closer to the exit the more I encounter these annoying bastards!" Jack Harrison voiced out as he took off four monsters heads with a clean strike from his swords.

"You guys should try and take some of them out, I'm getting tired" Jack Harrison said.

"You can't complain though.. it's better we encounter these mini monsters than the cave destroyer, Scavenger ." Dwayne muttered as they began to adVinceforward.

Jack ignored the inquisitive and staring eyes of the rest of the hunters who wouldn’t take their eyes away from him after they had witnessed everything that he did. They had underestimated him, and the signs that they were wrong glared outrightly at them. “I think we should put him ahead of us, he seems to have very powerful skills and is more skillful than we thought. We are definitely going to need him in this place with unimaginable and unthinkable creatures.” One of the female soldiers suggested with a whisper, but her words taunted Dwayne who didn’t want to hear anything of that nature. “Nonsense! Of what use is he? Just because he got so lucky and managed to slay the cave destroyer, you suddenly think he is valuable. He is just a human with no ability, and there is nothing more to that!” Dwayne stood on his resolve not to let Jack become more relevant than he was. He could already see that the group was beginning to have double feelings about his leadership, and he didn’t want

“What did I really need?” He thought to himself while he stared at the items floating alongside the screen in front of him. He looked at his injury for a short while, and when he saw that it was still bleeding even though he didn’t feel much pain, he grunted as the intensity of the situation crept into his consciousness. “I really need to get this to heal.” He thought to himself, and then he looked at the floating screen again, concentrating on the items that had come out from the box. “Do I need bandages?” He extended his right hand toward the bandage showing on the screen, but after he had taken a look at the cut on his chest, and realized that it extended toward the edges of his body, and was very deep. “No, I don’t think this is going to work.” He shook his head to get rid of the idea that came to his mind, and without much deliberation, he decided to go with his instincts. “Let me have the healing oil. I think that is going to work.” Jack nodded in agreement with the thought

The next morning was filled with the emergence of fog that made it very difficult for the rays of the sunlight to do their work. Even the shadows of some of the huge rocks surrounding the caves were cast on the hard floor, making the paths darker. “Wake up everyone! It’s time to continue our mission!” Dwayne’s voice roared from the corner where he sat, and then he stood slowly from the hard floor and stretched his arms before he lifted the leather bag from the floor, and hung it on his right shoulder. “Get up, everyone! We need to get going!” He said imperatively when he realized that some of the other crew members were still on the floor, while others were staggering to get up while they struggled to maintain a good balance. “Where the hell is that fool?” Dwayne scoured the entire area in search of Jack who was out of sight. He looked patiently for a while, but there was still no sight of him. “I am certain that the Human is hiding something, and I am going to find out what it is

“I am sorry, I am very exhausted. Last night was so draining.” He explained, but everyone ignored him, causing him to walk toward the bags that were packed by a corner behind him. As soon as Seth left the scene, the rest of the crew adjusted themselves while looking at each other, waiting for anyone to make the first move. “What’s it gonna be? Are you guys going to go with me or not? Are you going to come with me or not?” “We are going to leave when we are ready, Dwayne. The sky looks too dark, and it seems like something dangerous is coming. This is a very dangerous place and we need to tread carefully.” “But we have to find the medallion as soon as possible. Some of the other hunters from the city could be on their way, and Lord Rasmus has shown so much interest in the treasures hidden by Charles Oliver. We need to leave now.” “What about Jack? Where is he?” Lucy asked at once, looking around for the umpteenth time in search of Jack who still didn’t seem like he was around. “F

The air in the atmosphere felt a bit choky, and Jack could feel the tension that almost engulfed him the moment he walked into the other crew members who looked like they were ready to release some of the energy in them that bore a long-lasting feud. “What is going on here?” Jack asked again, but he got no response from them, and he totally ignored the words he heard from Lucy who seemed very serious about what she said. “Beat it, Human. This has nothing to do with you.” Dwayne said with a hoarse tone, and then he returned his haze to Vince who had been looking for every opportunity to fight him. “You are going to pick a Human over your own kind.” Dwayne said to Vince who looked unbothered by the words he spoke. “You would want to pick this silly Human over me because he has some skills to show off.” “This has nothing to do with whatever kind we are. I am just concerned about our safety, and it looks like the Human is more capable than you. After all, he singlehandedly killed the

Vince moved the tip of his spear toward Dwayne as soon as he got really close to him, but Dwayne was faster and got hold of the spear from its middle before he dragged it forcefully, causing Vince to lose his balance. “You made a silly mistake by trying to fight me! You should be ashamed of yourself for picking your own kind over a stupid Human!” Dwayne hit Vince on the chest with the red ball above his left palm while he held onto his spear. He let go of the spear the moment he saw that Vince was flying toward a corner of the environment, and he found himself on the floor with his spear lying beside him. “I knew it, this was a bad idea. I shouldn't have tried to challenge him, now he is going to kill him.” Lucy said to Sierra’s hearing, expressing the regret she felt from her actions, but Sierra was enjoying the show as she looked so excited to see what was going on. “You think you are strong enough! Stand up and fight me!” Dwayne said to Vince who coughed severally, while he trie

Vince struggled to drag the spear out of Dwayne’s belly which didn’t have a drop of blood dripping from it, but his efforts were futile, and no matter how hard he struggled, he was absolutely no match for Dwayne who effortlessly held onto the spear with his left hand. “Vince, Vince, Vince. The Almighty elf who was thrown down from his high place when he tried to elope with the daughter of the Imperial Lord, your story precedes you.” Dwayne said with a taunting tone, and then he chuckled again while looking at Vince who looked very shocked to hear what he said. “Who are you?” Vince asked with a shaky tone, looking at Dwayne who sniggered at him for the umpteenth time, and then he looked at the spear buried in his stomach with a smirk on his face. “Let’s get this out of me, shall we?” Dwayne slowly pulled out the spear from his belly and grunted with feigned pain while he dragged the spear from himself. He dragged the spear away from Vince and dropped it on the ground just before he

“Because we are on a mission together! You can’t kill him, we need all hands on deck. We have already lost Wade, and we can’t afford to lose any other person.” Jack said calmly, looking at Dwayne who lowered Vince with his feet almost touching the ground, and then he slowly started to walk toward Jack who remained calm while looking at him. “You really think your words would make me change my mind?” Dwayne asked with a cold tone, but Jack remained silent while he watched him approach with Vince almost lifeless, and grabbed rightly by his grip. Jack looked into his eyes, and staring at the fiery glow that sparked from his orbs, he tried to figure out the kind of power he possessed. It was nothing like anything he had ever seen before, and it took him a lot of courage to be able to withstand the pressure that came from the fierce sight of the strange elf. “Please, Dwayne. I need you to drop him, you are killing him.” Jack pleaded with a low tone, gesturing with both hands while he l

We all came here together, we should leave together.” Vince looked around as though he was expecting to see Dwayne, and when he didn’t see any sign of him, he shook his head and sighed heavily. “Did he go with anything?” Sierra said with a low tone, looking at Jack who quickly understood why she was looking at him.“The medallion!” He reached for his Pocket at once, and as soon as he felt the medallion, he sighed heavily, giving others a reason to remain calm. “I don’t know if he is going to be able to make it on his own, guys. You all saw the way his body looked. I don’t think he will be able to be out there on his own. This dimension is full of monsters.” Lucy said with a tone laced with so much concern, but Sierra scoffed almost, with a look of disdain on her face. Lucy stared at her with a little surprise in her eyes, wondering why she was still the way she was. She seemed to be the only pe

For the first time ever since they left the city for the dimension in search of the medallion, the adventurers slept like babies, with a little relief in their minds. All of a sudden, they had forgotten that they were in am area where monsters and creatures of all kinds nestled. Nothing else mattered at that time, not even the fact that they weren’t sure of how to go back. Jack was the first to wake up at the first flicker of dawn. He blinked his eyelids several times to get rid of the weakness that tried to shut his eyes just before he stretched and yawned, pushing himself up while he groaned loudly. He could see that the sun was shining brightly, but the strange color of the dimension still remained the same, different from that of Earth. Right beside him was Lucy who was still sound asleep, enjoying the cool breeze that perched on her face. She smiled while she was fast asleep, and Jack could tell that she was having the most amazing dream.

“Guys? None of you is saying anything! You can’t just keep quiet about this, whatever decision we are making, I think we need to make it together.” Jack said calmly while he looked at Lucy whose eyes were saying more words than her mouth at that time. He could see from the look in her eyes that she wanted him to pass judgment that would be very easy for him to endure. She was even willing to let go and hoped that everyone was going to agree with her even though she knew that it was going to be very difficult, especially with Sierra involved. Lucy was the most compassionate among all the adventurers, she was merciful and kind, and could easily be made to react to very emotional situations. Her eagerness to react to such things made her the weakest link to them, and she didn’t even know about it. “I think we should let go of everything he has done to us, and move on. After all, we already have found the medallion, and it doesn’t look like we are going to

Luckily, the rays from the moonlight were still bright, and he could still be seen. Sierra didn’t seem interested to hear what he was going to say, but when she saw that every other person had gotten closer to him, she reluctantly did the same and stood behind him, watching and waiting with her arms folded. Dwayne looked at his companions one after the other, and when he saw that they were paying attention while they surrounded him, standing at different corners, he sighed heavily before he went ahead to tell them what they had been longing to hear. “I am dying.” He said with a shaky tone, but his words came as a shock to his companions who didn’t know if they were to believe him him or not. Everyone had become very silent while they looked at Jack who began to come down slowly, looking at Lord Rasmus who threatened to kill Lucy and was serious about it,. He wasn’t mincing words, and Lucy was aware of this as well. “You are wasting my time, boy! Hurry up at once, hand over the medallion, or she is dead!”“You will get the medallion! Don’t just hurt her! Don’t hurt her, okay?” Jack gestured to Lord Rasmus while he slowly came down, and the glow that covered him went off at once. The medallion fell into his hand, and he held it firmly while walking toward him. “Come on! Hand it over, now!” Lord Rasmus said imperatively while he had his eyes on the medallion, still holding onto Lucy who was still shivering under the influence of the fright that gripped her. Halfway to getting to Lord Rasmus, Jack noticed the presence of some shadowed creatures behind him, and he had to stop to be sure he wasn’t hallucinating. The figures disappeared almost as soon as they appeared, and Ja

Lord Rasmus grunted and filled with the strong determination to get what he wanted, he pointed to Lucy who shivered at once, knowing what was about to happen to her. “Get her! I think he will have no choice but to do my bidding! let's see if she will be able to convince him to let go of my medallion!” The soldiers began to move to Lucy who took three steps backward, frightened that her life was going to be at stake at that moment. “Jack! I need you! Please…” She whimpered while she was still moving backward until she almost staggered to the ground. While Jack was still struggling to understand what was going on, he heard the sound of Lucy’s voice, and reacting to it, he turned abruptly to look at the soldiers who had gone after her, still hanging in the air.“Don’t get close to her!” He said angrily to the soldiers, but they ignored him, and grabbed Lucy at once, dragging her to Lord Rasmus while she struggled to free herself from the

At that moment, the strange sensation that engulfed Jack made him take two steps toward the tomb, but the soldiers who were focused on the tomb as well didn’t take notice of him. As the sensation became more intense, so did he increase his steps, moving gradually but with a constant pace while his eyes continued to gaze at the tomb. “Finally!” Lord Rasmus brightened his face as he approached the tomb as though his life depended on it. He got very close to it, and as soon as the soldiers moved farther away from the tomb, he reached into the tomb and grabbed the medallion with both hands, lifting it up into the air until everyone could see it. “This is the medallion?” Sierra said with a smirk on her face while she stared at the bronze medallion that was visible to every other person. She seemed a little bit disappointed at how small and ordinary the medallion, and she was almost about to regret coming on that mission for something like that. Some of the soldiers also shared the same o

Jack saw this and wished he could make a move, but the soldiers standing close to him were already aware that he could not be overlooked and had their eyes on him. “What did you say?” “I said that they are going to raise the spirits of the dead kings! I come from a lineage of necromancers, and I know that the tombs of kings should never be desecrated in any way, no matter what. This could awaken their spirits, and they could come for retaliation.” Lucy said with a sh
